Dr. Jared Matthew Frandson, MD

I am very picky! For starters, I want clear explanations from the conventional medical point of view. E.g., for any treatment, I want to know its efficacy and its side effects and risks as well as the risks if I delay it or try another "non-evidence-based" trreatment first. And I want to be able to discuss complementary treatment in the same way. In other words, I want to participate in health care choices, with the help of my doctor. I want to be able to challenge the doctor without them taking it personally AND without backing down from their recommendations. I want a doctor where I feel like we are two human beings meeting. Yes, I want to feel as the the doctor truly cares, but on top of that, I want to feel like a valued client. Not silly, ininformed, unhealthy me and all-knowing, condescending PhD them. I want a doctor who is actively engaged with the latest research in their area(s) of interest, who has a discerning eye when it come to studies (i.e., knows the… difference between causation and correlation), and who can explain the significance of the research to me in ways that I can understand and apply to my healthcare choices. I want a doctor who will refer me to specialists when needed. I want a doctor who will offer me timely and detailed replies to the messages I leave them between visits. Dr Frandson is all this and more. A patient of his who heard about him from other people with positive experiences recommended him to me. I was in the process of recommending him to a friend when I noticed that alhtough he has many fans, he has not received many reviews. And so decided to leave this review, my first ever.

Glad to have found a great doctor and advocate for the lgbt community.
