Dr Nielsen is an amazing, caring man and a brilliant doctor! I would absolutely refer any of my family or friends to see him! he is wonderful to both his staff and all of his patients!

Dr. Nielson was an answer to my prayers. I was traveling across the country in my RV when out of the clear blue I could not see out of one of my eyes. I called an eye specialist and was refered to his practice. Within 30 minutes, I was in his office meeting with him and had surgery scheduled for the next day in the hospital in Sparks. My surgery went wonderfully, I was seen later that afternoon and the next day. Within 3 days I was back on the road heading toward Colorado Springs. Dr. Nielson had set up a follow-up appointment for me with a retina specialist whom he knew knew and had sent my records on for me so that they were waiting for me the following week. He had also sent my records to my hometown ophthalogist as well as giving me copies of them. All of the doctors whom I have seen since my surgery have been very impressed with the procedure and outcome of my surgery. So have I! I had full confidence in Dr. Nielson as soon as I met him. He gave me an extensive… exam and then explained the condition and the options that I had. Being so far away from home with no knowledge of local doctors I was so fortunate to be referred to Dr. Nielson.

I am so impressed with Dr. Nielsen and his staff and the care I received after being diagnosed with a macular hole. Although the wait time can be a bit long due to the nature of the very specialized eye conditions he treats he takes the time needed with his patients and is very through. I highly recommend him.

My experience was very unique. I was in Reno for the first time on a business trip and suffered from a detached retina. The emergency room at Northern Nev Medical Center refered me to Dr Nielson. I had immediate attention and ongoing care for a very difficult retina detachment that did not want to heal. On my third and final operation on a Saturday, Dr Nielson opened his office on a Sunday to see me and I was his only patient. He is a caring Dr who feels very dedicated to his patients. As I found out, eye treatment can be a very emotional and stressful ordeal. I will never be able to thank him and his staff for treating so well and saving my eyesight and helping me to pull through this. I have made a full recovery!

Dr. Nielsen saw me on an emergency basis, without an appointment, examined me, and had me in hospital for a detached retina operation first thing next morning. On that first visit and every subsequent he explained succinctly and in detail exactly what was happening and how he was going to treat me. I was impressed.His staff are not only knowledgeable but friendly, obviously well trained.I can't praise this doctor enough. As I indicated above he is...........Simply the Best!!
