Dr. Jarrod Todd King, MD

Jerrod King MD is very personable, extremely patient and professional when asked detailed questions before and after surgery and also, I feel, a superior orthopedic sports injury surgeon. Both of my shoulders have failed. Dr. King has repaired each of them. My left shoulder, 2-years ago is fully recovered: I have full motion compared to before the tear, I also, after 2-years, have full strength—if not maybe a bit more than before. I am an active age 58, male. I cycle, snow/water ski, lift weights and push my body to perform. Neither shoulder failed while stressing it: one tore in my sleep, the other while lifting my 18lbs road bike into my car. Each injury involved multiple muscles attaching my arm to shoulder with full complete tears. In each case, Dr. King went through what he intended to do to correct the injuries. He was very up-front about the pain to expect, the length of PT and the expected results. As I noted previously, one shoulder was repaired 2-years ago, the second… shoulder 3-weeks ago. I am very pleased with both surgeries. It should be noted, my PT told me that Dr. King started out as a PT. Hence, he has a very structured regimen for recovery. It’s not easy, it’s not without pain, it formally lasts about 26-weeks for a rotator cuff surgery like my two. It took 18-months for me to feel no weak points or twinges of pain in my left shoulder; I the first year back to skiing poleing was sometimes tough. That was not the case the second year. Dr King is very personable and likable, he has Southern charm (TX) oozing. He was very considerate in the placements of his incisions and his punctures so as that any scaring would be minimally visible. In summary, my experience with Dr. Jerrod King is exemplary. My results have exceeded expectations. He and his staff have been attentive and considerate. I am rating him 5-stars. I hope I never need to see him for surgery again, but he would be my choice if I need to have more orthopedic sports surgery work done.

Dr. King was amazing. Very Professional, Accurate diagnosis and surgical repair of the knee. Highly recommend.

Recently I had a severe injury to my right knee playing football. Complete tears to my PCL, my posterolateral corner, my meniscus, my LCL, MCL, two fractures to my tibia, and some other stuff. Pretty much everything in my knee was trash except for my ACL. And that's what they told me. The first appointment with orthopedics at denver health. The first thing said to me was my knee was trash. Dr. King came in and explained everything to me. He was blunt and to the point, but he showed me diagrams and was informative. I understood the complexity of my injury. He scheduled my surgery and the hospital and staff were on top of everything in telling me what needed to be done. On the day of surgery, I arrived on time, and was taken back to pre op. once there I was changed, they went over all the paperwork, dr. Kings OR staff all came and introduced themselves so I would know who was in the room with me and once everything was gone over and signed they took me back. I was in surgery for 7 hours… or so, and when I woke up everything was done. He completely rebuilt my knee in around 7 hours. And now 5 weeks post op, I am happy with his work. I still don't have the range of motion I need to have yet, but it's getting better every day. All in all I think Dr. King is a highly skilled surgeon and him and his staff did and are continuing to do everything to help me get back on my feet. I give him a 5 star all the way across the boards.

Although it's understandable for someone to hunt down a doctor's profile online and give him a bad reputation with your ratings and comments due to a bad experience you may have had with him, people who will have had perfectly good operations and post op experiences don't usually share their side of the story. They don't feel compelled to. They're less apt to write a review because they're not being fueled by the same rage as people who have had traumatizing experiences with this doctor. But in order to set things straight with a few people, not ALL surgeries with this doctor "nearly cripple" your daughters. I was in a bad car accident, and had to be life flighted to Denver Health from Nebraska. I was rushed into emergency surgeries and at the time they were more worried about other life threatening complications rather than my legs. So the surgeries ended up being a little questionable at first. I had done serious damage to three major tendons in each leg, it was a rare and… complicated injury. I required complex surgeries if I was ever going to be expected to walk again. I will never be 100% again or be able to play sports. However, he did the best my injury allowed him to, and for me his best is pretty impressive considering the fact that I've been in a wheelchair for the past six months and his operations got me walking again finally. He even did the surgeries even though we weren't sure my insurance would pay until about three and half months after my accident. It's a little cheesy and overrated, but I feel sort of indebted to him for helping me get to where I am today. So I thought the least I could do was give him the five star review he deserved rather than the two stars people gave him out of frustration. In my opinion, he's a good doctor, and performed surgeries that weren't even offered in Nebraska because of how complex they were. I'm really quite grateful someone like him is in the practice.

This idiot who calls himself a doctor nearly crippled my daughter. He preformed surgery and cut a ligament he wasn't supposed to. My daughter had to have surgery again this time at University Hospital to try and fix the botched surgery. He should lose his license, and be sued for malpractice with we intend to follow through on.

I saw Dr. King for arthroscopic knee surgery. It took me over a month to get a surgery scheduled. When I finally had the surgery, I had waited more than 6 and a half hours to get in the OR. I was very disappointed in the follow-up, as his resident didn't even know whether I had had surgery already or not. Then Dr. King came in and didn't know what kind of screws he had used. All in all, he was very curt and cold. Months later, my knee is still very swollen and numb in most places.
