Dr. Jashvant Gangaram Patel, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Patel's for nearly a year. He treats me for a very painful combination of stenosis/spondylosis of the neck. I see him once a month at the San Luis Obispo office, and receive cervical injections 3 times a year from him at Marian Hospital in Santa Maria. I have found him and his staff to be efficient, caring, and most importantly, effective. Thanks to Dr. Patel and his staff, I am managing my pain consistently and can continue with my active lifestyle. THANK YOU, Dr. Patel!

After several years of seeing Dr. Patel first and then Dr. Pirouz, I finally realized that there were other options available in the area who have better office management. Early on in my time as a patient, there was unauthorized activity on my debit card from Pain Management Specialists(PMS). Fortunately my bank caught it and notified me that it was from the Santa Maria PMS facility. I was prescribed some medicine that I took faithfully for awhile until I could no longer tolerate the side effects. I requested a lower potency medicine that has lower side effects. I was able to get the doctor to switch the medicine, but he failed to match the equivocal dosage and I fell into a terrible withdrawal which cost me days of missed work. Over several days I attempted several methods to contact Doctor Patel for help, but I could not penetrate the obviously underpaid staff. Finally the Dr. contacted me and seemed agitated. He asked what I wanted. Which was strange because that information… was clearly conveyed to the staff over telephone, fax and in person. He proceeded to tell me that I will need to find a different doctor and I was quickly switched to Dr. Pirouz within the PMS group.

I have been going to Dr. Patel for years. He is very caring and really wants to help alleviate pain. Unfortunately, he is often hamstrung by the insurance company. He has repaired a fracture in my back and given me a number of very successful pain injections. Sometimes the waits a little long but the chairs are more comfortable than in many doctor's offices.

Dr Patel quadruple books his appointments, a medical assistant in the office told me this. That's why I wait 3-5 hours every appointment. When I complain, he doesn't care.

I saw Dr. Patel for 2 epidurals and the next visit he asked if I had ever been there before - I realize he is a busy man but this didn't make me feel very good and I quit seeing him after that. The epidurals didn't do much good for pain anyway.

Dr. Patel is a true pain specialist. He knew just where I needed injections to stop my back pain and I highly recommend him for pain management. I have not had severe pain since his help.

Very very rude and his staff is even worse. Dont go to this doctor you will totally regret it. Staff and especially his offive manager need to go work for a prison, they have the same attitudes as an inmate.

He is a great doctor and has changed my life for the best

Dr Patel is a very rare doctor. He is kind, he is compassionate and very attentive. He does not want to make his patients worse, he truly wants them to get better! This is rare from. Pain doctor. I believe he, of all the doctors I have seen lately, really wants to help me and I have faith he will. If you must chose a pain doctor and want to get better, this a great doctor to choose. I also rally like his PA Stacy. Dr Patel called the pharmacy for me at seven at night from his home to help me get my medication. Wow. How wonderful of him. He also sees that I am young and treats accordingly. I feel for the first time sure I will get better. Being in pain is very hard and emotionally draining and for the first time in weeks I feel equipped to handle this. He has given me the most pain relief I have had in days and also I just feel better knowing he is caring for me and will help me get past this episode in my life. His office staff has always been very nice to me.
