I have been seen by Dr. Francis for almost four years now for potential choroidal melanoma. She discovered the source of one of the primary indicators or melanoma as being from some source other than the result of mitotic activity and was therefore able to show that there is presently no need for treatment other than monitoring every six months. She saved my vision. She is a remarkably intelligent and gentle person. Dr. Francis is the finest example of a highly qualified and compassionate doctor in a field that causes patients tremendous anxiety. When she walks in the room to report her findings, she is like sunshine. Her warm and calm manner and the personal concern she gave my husband, is beyond words. She embodies the love of her chosen field, and the love and dignity she gave my husband. Everything that MSKCC stands for, she dignifies with her knowledge and approach.
