Dr. Jasmine Nitchaphorn Race

I am writing this review to document an experience of iatrogenic harm—a clinical term for harm caused by a healer. While Dr. Race is credentialed, my sessions with her were not only unhelpful, they were actively detrimental to my mental health, leaving me in a measurably worse state than when I began. The core issue transcends a simple "disconnect" in life experience. It is a fundamental lack of therapeutic attunement that manifests as a kind of polite, clinical coldness. At times, I felt less like a patient in a collaborative therapeutic alliance and more like a specimen—a fascinating case study in trauma to be observed with academic detachment. Benign-sounding suggestions were delivered without any apparent consideration for their real-world consequences, which in my case, were destabilizing. What is most concerning is that these sessions took place in the context of a training program. It is one thing for a trainee to have blind spots; it is another for the supervisory framework of… a major institution to be so lacking that a patient can be exposed to this kind of invalidating and harmful dynamic. It raises serious questions about the quality of oversight. I cannot in good conscience recommend this provider. If your problems are simple and you seek a detached sounding board, you may be fine. But if you are in a state of genuine crisis or vulnerability, I urge you to seek care elsewhere. This is not a safe environment for those in true distress.

Dr Race worked with me for 1 year. In that time, she demonstrated a keen understanding of my emotional and physical needs and helped craft a plan to improve my health. She was extremely thoughtful, insightful and empathetic.
