Dr. Jasmine Kaur Sidhu, MD

While relatively competent for general healthcare needs, Dr. Sidhu is not a good physician to handle any transgender patient seeking a safe and expedient transition. Her lack of knowledge in this area was clear and when I first discussed my plan for top surgery she seemed overwhelmed but otherwise accepting/supportive. Only later through a nurses voicemail did I find out she had changed her mind and would not, in fact, be able to help me get blood work done to obtain medical clearance (not psychological, I had a psychologist for that) for this surgery. I tried to explain everything about my pre/post plans to her through the portal but was only met with condescension and misgendering. She later sent me a letter of patient termination due to noncompliance. It's been over 6 months since this interaction and I still feel strongly about it. I was later able to work with a truly wonderful IU endocrinologist who helped me get approval for the surgery, but it was quite a difficult journey to… say the least.
