Dr. Ames grew up in Gwinnett County and graduated from Shiloh High School. After graduating from James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia, he worked as a technology consultant for a global consulting firm in Atlanta. During his four years as a consultant, he became keenly aware of his desire to become a dentist and was accepted to the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry. Dr. Ames received multiple awards in various dental disciplines and The Certificate of Merit from the American Association of Endodontics.
Following graduation, Dr. Ames made the commitment to further enhance his skills and knowledge and completed two additional years of training in the Endodontic residency program at The Medical College of Georgia. While working towards receipt of his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics, Dr. Ames conducted extensive research that examined the biocompatibility of multiple root canal …sealing materials. Since finishing the program Dr. Ames has contributed to additional projects led by full time researchers at the Medical College of Georgia which have been subsequently published in the Journal of Endodontics.Â
Dr. Ames is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Georgia and a board-eligible specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists. He is a member of the Georgia Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Northern District Dental Association and the Hinman Dental Society.
Dr. Ames enjoys the outdoors, college football, and spending time with his family. He and his wife Carmen are often seen chasing and raising their two active and entertaining sons, Jase and Zach.
