Hi, and welcome to our practice!
I have been practicing in the same Phillipsburg location since 1985. I graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1983 and completed a General Practice Residency at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital. I am a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Academy of Laser Dentistry and the Lehigh Valley Dental Study Club, and I am a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. I have obtained both advanced proficiency with the erbium:YAG laser and standard proficiency in the diode laser from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. I am certified in Branemark implant prosthetics. Â I maintain active dental licenses in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
I enjoy both cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry (rebuilding the bite). In recent years, the practice of laser dentistry has been very exciting and has become a passion. I attempt to treat every patient in the same manner that …I would like to be treated myself.
My wife, Roslyn, and I have been married since 1980. We have one son, Max; a Wheaton terrier named Scooby Doo; and a cairn terrier named Anna Belle. In my spare time, I like to ski, golf, travel, read, go to the movies, and talk sports and politics with anyone who will listen.

My family and I have been going to Dr.Birnbaum now for approx 14 years. All of us have only Good things to say about him and his office staff. Their Bed side manner is amazing. I personally have been to 6-8 dentists since I was 18 and besides my childhood dentist and a few others, Dr. Birnbaum takes the cake. If you are reading this and are so nervous about dentists for yourself or even your kids please call Dr. Birnbaum. He will take care of you. His office staff all are so kind and caring and will go the extra mile for you. Every single one of them! Thank you Dr. Birnbaum and all his present and past staff…You are all rockstars!
