Dr. Jason Brokaw, MD

Dr. Broakaw is not practicing ethically. He works for worker compensation insurance. He tells you something during the evaluation and writes his recommendation based on what insurance company wants him to write. He discriminates between the patient. Beware of him. Not trustworthy. He has sold his medical practice to get the bucks from insurance company to keep his pocket warm. His practice is driven by work comp instructions which is to cut you off the patient treatment and push them back to work by creating false recommendation and evaluation.

This so called Doctor, is one of the worst pain doctors in the world. An that’s saying something. He doesn’t care about your pain. Doesn’t care about any human being in the world other than himself. Very self-centered. Very cruel doctor shouldn’t even be practicing medicine. This man forgot his hippocratic oath to mankind. People to him are just a number he just wants the insurance money for the visit, an you Push you out the door without hearing you talk to tell him what’s wrong. If you’re in pain find another doctor that would actually help you. This man is a nut job, he should not be taken seriously find yourself another doctor get the help you need. Please stay away from this man. This man shouldn’t even be a doctor. I hope this helps somebody to get the help they need. I can just imagine how many people he has screaming in agony daily because they can’t get the help that they need and that sad, I hope somebody reads this and gets the help that they need by A Doctor that cares… about their patients. This doctor seems to be the go to doctor for insurance companies trying to discontinue treatment or mitigate their costs for worker's compensation patients. I have written three type written pages of errors and misstatements in two reports by Dr. Brokaw. I am filing an ethics complaint with the Maryland department that provides oversight for physicians. It is unclear if this doctor even has his own patients as his practice specializes in independent medical exams and have for over 40 years. There is nothing independent about his exams. He seems to have a propensity to entrap patients by twisting their words or leaving out the patient's explanations, with the intent to destroy the workers credibility. Other physicians have also commented on his reports negatively. I am basing this review on my experiences with this doctor and reading other reports of misconduct on sites such as these. He will retaliate against you if you question erroneous statements made by him. When I told… him some issues in his previous report were incorrect, he laughed about this statement and said this conversation is "not doing you any good." His second report was even worse that the first (No surprise). This doctor has no compassion and is paid very well for his very biased opinions by the insurance companies. All over the world, many workers compensation patients have given up, some have committed suicide. The insurance companies have a team of contractors(doctors, medical providers) that are known to favor the insurance companies with their so called, "independent medical exams." Insurance companies and their contractors get to select the doctors to perform these examinations and they are mandatory. Never go alone to an IME appointment with this doctor (or any IME doctor) and ask if you can record the non-examination portion of the visit. Everyone who participates in this corrupt system(and are highly paid for their "opinions") should be subject to severe consequences like the workers who are injured by these reports. The insurance companies will use these biased reports to poison your relationships with existing doctors. It is almost impossible to find a doctor who will accept worker's compensation anymore and this makes recovery even more difficult. When the insurance company receives such reports, workers are cut off from treatment, pay is cut off, and many are forced into bankruptcy and homelessness. It can take over three months to get in front of the Maryland WC commission for resolution. Police officers, nurses, teachers, and anyone who works for local governments are impacted as they are usually self-insured and use third party administrators. The system is broken and this doctor is part of the broken system. Be very cautious!

Why would you write a insurance report that has BASICLY allowed the wc insurance company the feeling they can slam the breaks on any treatment at all even the ones you recommend I needed don't you understand sometimes your doing more harm then good. You need to look at your ime you do for them with different eyes. Based on what we have been threw with surgeries ect . Then say to yourself if this person was under my care what would I offer them so they can gain somewhat normal life. Please dont give them a inch so they end up taking a yard..because of this I've suffered months of pain and suffering and loss of mobility I once had. I am now at ground zero and have to fight to regain what I've loss. I am sure your a wonderful doctor to your own but please don't give them fuel to stop helping not all of us are faking.

Have already referred a family member to Dr. Brokaw.

It's sad to see a dr allow himself to lie in order to pad his pocket. He maybe totally different with his regular patent but seeing someone for 5 or 10 mins to make some bucks from some insurance company to write lies is horrible.love how he picks and chooses bits out of your medical file and twist them to make you look bad as he calls them flags.claims your not compliant on meds that aren't even paid by the insurance company but funny that I take them every night hmm .he must be on a power trip he controls people's future cause he sure does think he's got a crystal ball to see into it.But I'm sure he just giggles and it boosts his ego when he see bad reviews

I felt this doctor was rude and didn't even do a hands on for my chronic back and neck pain. I was in a car accident and had 3 blown discs in my neck for which I had already had a bone graft and fusion at 3 levels with continued extreme pain. Called me an addict, obese (tho I' still within Navy standards), and left me to live with chronic pain with no help.

Whatever happened to the Hippocratic oath? Dr Brokaw is bought and paid for by the insurance companies. When he examined me Dr Brokaw grimaced when he asked me what I did for a living. Dr Brokaw smiled at me like he understood the pain I was in. Dr Brokaw then proceeded to write a glowing report and release me back to work. I have 3 Doctors that disagree. Dr Brokaw is not on your side! no matter how much he acts like he understands the pain you're in. Do not trust Dr Brokaw. He is a sell out for a few bucks.

This guy is 2 face like the rest of the insurance doctor's. I told this guy i wanted to work i could work im only 30 the first time i went to him i was 28. Im not one to sit around and collect workers comp i hate to sit around i fell 3 stories and hurt my left arm, left leg, left knee, and lower back. I been to about 5 doctor's 3 of them saying I'm to young for back surgery and need to try therapy and injections which i already done and it didn't help. 2 doctor's said a fusion and or they can scrap the disc. This doctor says my pain should go away with therapy i been in therapy for 3 years and it is just getting worse by the day. Workers comp hasn't paid me for 3 months so i started doing little jobs to get by [my bills don't stop coming when workers comp don't pay me] the insurance company had a PI follow me they supposedly caught me working. They show Dr Brokaw which i told him i had to work and he winded up saying there was still a couple things wrong with me to seeing the video… saying there is nothing wrong with me. THIS GUY IS 2 FACE AND JUST WORRIED ABOUT A EASY PAY FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I DON'T WANT MONEY I JUST WANT TO BE FIXED. WORKERS COMP AND DOCTORS LIKE THIS MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A CROOK BY THE TIME YOUR DONE.

Sometimes a doc tries out all the latest tech just because it is the latest (pills, procedures, tests, etc.) Not Dr. Brokaw. He is thoughtful in his diagnosis, conservative in his approach, always doing what is necessary, but not involved in over kill like some docs. Also, you get a diagnosis quickly. He does tests, runs x-rays, and by the time you leave you have a handle on what is wrong and what can be done. His bedside manner is the best. He explains everything. You never feel rushed, yet he is efficient with his time. He gave me a serious of spinal shots which were really rather scarey. Yet throughout, I had ultimate trust in his abilities and precision. That is what one wants in a doctor who is treating one's spine!
