Dr. Jason Paul Brown, MD

Towards the end of my wife's pregnancy we won a trip to go to Universal Studios. Even though it was within six weeks of the Jew date, Dr Brown said that my wife would be okay to travel. In spite of this she decided to stay in Texas I'm not risk having a baby with a doctor other than Dr Brown.

I was a patient of Dr brown for only the last 5 months of my pregnancy, due to my long-term OBGYN giving up his delivery practice before I got pregnant. I enjoyed Dr. Brown's causal nature during the pregnancy checkups, his assurances and calm nature were very calming. However, in hindsight I missed signs that he was not paying close enough attention to the details. Concern #1 - When I came to him, I had just been diagnosed with chicken pox. I was very concerned but he assured me all was fine and referred me to a specialist "just in case". It took 3 weeks to see this specialist, after 3 calls to his office asking where we were at on the referral. Upon finally seeing the specialist, she informed me that we could have done a test of the amniotic fluid to assure the virus had not transferred to the baby - but having waited so long to see me this was no longer an option, and we would be stuck hoping and reviewing monthly detailed ultrasounds - at $800 a pop. I had asked Dr Brown… specifically if this type of test was available and he had said it was not. Concern #2 - Dr. Brown did not review these ultrasound results from the specialist (this is not an assumption on my part, he admitted to this), instead basing the anticipated size of the baby on exterior measurements of my belly. Dr. Brown had expected my son to be 6 pounds at delivery... He was 8.5 pounds. Due in part to a very fast delivery I ended up having to go under general anesthesia to be stitched back together. While I share responsibility for the tear (I declined a scheduled inducement and opted to go 6 days past my due date), I do scratch my head at the 30+ minute delay between when I was prepped and when he finally showed back up to do the operation: I had so much blood loss and such severe anemia when it was all said and done that I was held an extra day in the hospital, narrowly avoided a blood transfusion, and I still have an arrhythmia 7mo later. Concern #3 - Dr. Brown did not communicate well with the nurses or myself after my delivery about what my care should be. I overheard my two nurses complaining that he had told them to "use their best judgement" and left without providing orders. He neglected to prescribe me iron supplements - it took the on-call OBGYN to get that ordered, 24 hours later. Concern #4 - On my 2 week follow-up with Dr Brown post-delivery I asked him to explain to me in detail the extent of the tear. I had to push him, but he eventually drew it on a paper and gave me the depth info in the 1-4 range used for these tears. I then had a second opinion done. He had under-represented the extent of the tear - Dr Brown had categorized it as a 2, the second opinion Dr classified it as a 3-4. Dr Brown also declined to examine me at that appointment despite my specific request for him to do so, and declined to consult me about my medications at that time. I left his practice immediately following my second opinion results. Overall, I would say that if you know your body and don't have much concern, Dr Brown would be sufficient. But then, if that's your case, you might as well save the money and go to a birthing center which will not have you on your back in stirrups for your delivery, increasing your chances of a tear. It took me months to decide to post this review, but I feel an obligation to do so. Do not trust this man with your and your child's health.

I really enjoy Dr Brown and the staff that he has. The care that they give is unbelievably awesome. Everyone is so patient and kind and super friendly! I feel very safe and comfortable having Dr Brown as my doctor and for helping me welcome my baby girl in this world.

Receptionist was very rude

I have been seeing dr brown for 13 yrs, I would never go to another dr. His staff and him are the best !

Went to him cause he was highly recommended. Planned on a vaginal after my last son was emergency c-section. Entire pregnancy we were ready for vagianl delivery and when my water broke sitting at the hospital he comes in and says nope we're doing a c-section. I refused but he said it has to be done, after he got my son out he says we could have done a vaginal because your tissue healed very nice. Really?! Now I'm doomed to have another c-section. Then the entire pregnancy my son was breach and because he didn't bother to move him or turn him my son now has a messed up foot because his foot was pressed up against his shin... Never again. Heard he lost his licenses recently due to other things like this.

Excellent doctor. Great bedside manners, answers questions thoroughly, and provides a comforting environment. Staff is courteous, efficient and inviting. Overall wonderful experience. Definitely the physician you want during labor and delivery.

If it wasn't for Dr Brown I would not have my 3 beautiful boys. He is truly an amazing person and Dr. If Dr Brown is your Dr then you are in great hands!

BITTER EXPERIENCE.I visited Dr. at his Mansfield office. DR.BROWN CAME CAME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ONE OF HIS PATIENTS HOWEVER THE FOLLOWING WAS MY EXPERIENCE ..My results TOOK TOO LONG TO BE REVIEWED ( 5 MONTHS) EVEN WHEN CONTACTING HIS OFFICE. OFFICE STAFF SAID MY MESSAGES HAD BEEN PASSED ALONG. He took a long time to call me and apologize about the fees after my procedure. Assessments were not even mentioned. ( his staff failed to WARN PATIENT (ME) ABOUT FEE AFTER INOFFICE PROCEDURE and then I RECEIVED A LETTER stating I OWED A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS AND IT WOULD GO ON CREDIT REPORT IF NOT PAY) Even after making payment arrangements and several attempts to get him on the phone my messages went without a response for a long while (1 1/2 month) when he finally called I no longer trusted him .Once trust was broken I did not feel he had my best health interest in mind. I asked for my records and moved along to another Dr. Warning!! He is at two locations Waxahachie and… Mansfield so it will be difficult for patients (with urgent issues)to see him or get feedback on an urgent matter because office staff will be quick to point out to you, he is not in Mansfield but Waxahachie or the other way around .
