Dr. Jason P. Calligas, MD

Jason Patrick Calligas, MD, is a board-certified comprehensive otolaryngologist dedicated to providing expert care for both adults and children with conditions affecting the ear, nose, throat, head and neck. He offers both surgical and non-surgical treatment options tailored to each patient’s unique needs, managing a wide range of complex clinical issues, including:

• Ear disorders: Hearing loss, ear infections, tinnitus and balance problems
• Nasal and sinus conditions: Chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, allergies, deviated septum and nasal polyps/masses
• Throat and voice disorders: Mouth and tongue issues, tonsillitis, voice changes, swallowing difficulties, laryngeal issues and lesions
• Head and neck issues: Thyroid and parathyroid disorders, salivary gland diseases, tumors or cancers of the head and neck
• Airway and pediatric conditions: Sleep apnea, snoring, breathing difficulties and congenital abnormalities 

As a Shreveport native, Dr. Calligas combines his love of technology …with his passion for medicine. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in business from Tulane University in New Orleans. After working in the tech industry, he returned to his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor, completing his medical education at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. 

Dr. Calligas went on to complete an internship and residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and became board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. After residency, he gained valuable experience working with Kaiser Permanente in Georgia and Colorado before returning home to serve the Shreveport community.

Outside his medical practice, Dr. Calligas enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Stacy, and their two children. He enjoys technology of all types, reading science fiction and fantasy, playing video games and cooking.
