Great doctor! Wish he was still centrally located in St. Louis!

If you want to have a voice in your own healthcare, this is not your guy. He tends to get angry and lash out if you don’t do what he suggests. Big problem. He often is rushed and doesn’t listen closely enough during the consultation, which resulted in inaccurate notes in my chart. He threw illnesses at me that I didn't even have - putting me on meds that I don’t even need. When I went to specialists who took me off these meds, he became irate. I’ve never been to a more unprofessional, uncaring, cocky doctor. Who knows. Maybe HE needs to be put on meds.

Spends at least an hour each year with me. Dr. Hand sincerely cares for his patients on many levels. He has been a huge help and asset of my health. A+

I can always count on Dr. Hand to give me time and expert advice on care. He also has an excellent Nurse Practitioner

Doctor Hand is one of the best doctors that I ever had in my 79 years. He is a walking dictionary of medical knowledge. Does not rush you and answers your questions and explains them in layman terms. He nevers talks over you. Would highly recomend him!

Once again we are having an issue with a refill threw Dr Hand‘s office. Schnucks Pharmacy sent over a request for prior authorization so that I could be sent to the insurance company. That never got sent to the entrance company. After several days I contacted the doctors office and they said they had no record of any request for a prior authorization. Then I was told that the request would be sent back to the proper people and that it would be sent over to the insurance company. After several more days we attempted to have the pharmacy run it through the insurance again and it continued to say it was declined due to a prior authorization needed. I ended up contacting the insurance company and they said that they had not heard anything and did not have any sort of request on file from Dr Hand‘s office. So we are over a week into needing Nicole‘s medication and we still don’t have it. I left Dr Hand‘s office because even trying to see him on a visit is extremely hard. You have to… schedule your visit 6 to 9 months out just to have an opportunity to visit with him, not another colleague or the nurse practitioner. I tried to go in on a sick visit and I had hives all over my body. They told me they couldn’t get me in that day. And this is me calling them in the morning. Once that happened I told them that I immediately wanted a referral and now I am over with Dr. Landis, still in mercy in Sunset Hills. What a refreshing change. I get to see Dr. Lanis when I come in for my visits and I don’t have any issues with his office contacting either the Pharmacy or the insurance company for anything I might need. Dr. Hand’s office has become too big, and the staff there are absolutely lazy. The first person I contacted their Barb, I told her that I did not have the insurance card but that they had the insurance information there. On file. She told me to go ahead and get the insurance card so I can give her the ID and the phone number for them to send Send the prior authorization to the insurance company. God for bid she actually look into Nicole’s file and just pull the insurance information that is there. Instead I had to hang up, wait for Nicole to text me a copy of her insurance cards, then I called back and waited another 18 minutes on hold before I finally got a hold of Barb and was able to give her the numbers that she already had there in Nicoles chart. I would recommend finding another doctors office in the worst mercy because this is only going to continue to happen again and again. This is not the first time that we’ve had to deal with making multiple calls and his office saying that they sent stuff that was never sent

This guy must have been born angry, he took zero interest in my arm., walked in office and didn't even check any of my reports prior.

My Internist retired and I had to choose a new doctor after 25 years and I could not have chosen better than Dr. Hand. He is a progressive doctor and takes care of my health issues on the spot. With Dr. Hand, you come first.

I adore this doctor. He is always so kind and thoughtful and asks about other family members. One time I had a hard time getting staff to get a message to him. I happened to call after hours and he was the physician on call. He had no idea that I was having issues and told me to come in the next day. He has referred me to other specialized doctors and always ask if I am happy with that doctor. If not he will refer me to another. He spends a lot of time with you at appointments and is never rushed. He is so positive and explains things in common folk verbiage. He is a very busy doctor so getting in to see him can be an issue. Unless you are lucky enough to get him after hours or if he becomes aware that there is an issue. I am sooo happy I have him as my primary.

I am a person who has several issues and Dr. Hand has done well on keeping me healthy. My problems are lifelong so having an internist who is up to date on the current processes and drugs was a plus for me as well as his knowledge of other doctors in the Mercy system to assist me and him with my health care. In todayâ??s world of managed health care, having a doctor that knows his way around is priceless. Health care is a team effort these days and Dr. Hand had built a great team.
