Friendly staff Doctor took time to address my concerns and answer my questions.

Very poor doctor. Talked down to me when I asked a question about my imaging and why I need a needle biopsy. He continued to question my GYN surgery for Endrometriosis. He kept talking over me to the point I had to walk out. He is so sure of him self. He could not give me statistics that I wanted for a implant puncher that could accoure to my brest implants. He comment was, "so just replace the implant". I told him, "who is going to pay for a new implant"? Then he said " or just have cancer"

He had no idea that I had read the pathology report already, so when he lied and told us that my cancer was only 3-5mm when it was already 1.1cm, I was dismayed. When he had me change to examine me, he didn't give me time to get in the gown...literally opening the door a minute after shutting it, stood there looking at me and came in without even apologizing. He insulted the way I look, and then shrugged and said my chest was "ok". He ran his finger over my nipple to show me where his incision would be. This man should not be a doctor for women, and much less for a woman with an illness such as cancer. He is a pig.

Unprofessional, Rude, and inconsiderate. Ruth the office manager is allowing this type of treatment to occur to Dr.Hechtman’s patients. I am currently in the process of reporting this office. Someone needs to be informed how awful the staff at this office is.

Dr. Hechtman is direct,to the point, and doesn't waste your time or his. Four days after my appointment I had my surgery. Four days! Everything went smoothly. Even the stitches were done well, with almost no scarring. A great doctor, and a great staff!

This doctor DX me with stage 1 breast cancer. When I came in to see what the CT SCAN results were, he had not even reviewed the report before coming in to the room to see me.. Read aloud from the report that there was a spot in my lung and liver.. I gasped and said OMG.. He then told me to shut up, that I was distracting him. He said I was stupid and that he did this everyday. btw I am retired nurse and Dr. Hechtman actually went to medical school with my sister, that is a GYN in Melbourne FL. He still treated me this way. I immediately found another doctor. I can't speak to his surgical skills,but I will not go to a doc with such poor bedside manor. Cancer is scary no matter who you are. When his staff called me 2 months later I told them that if you cut women's breasts off for a living you can be a little more sensitive. I really am not one that cares if a doctor is backed up and I have to wait. That happens. I had no issue with his staff who were polite and professional, or… facility that he had just moved into at all. But to talk to a patient you just told had cancer and that is might be in her liver or lung, was inexcusable. I was not going to let someone so uncaring take a knife to me. I left his office feeling more afraid of him than the cancer. I went to another doctor and all turned out fine.. I did have a mastectomy and the spots on my liver and lung turned out to be nothing.

This office is very unprofessional. The doctor is VERY nice, but his staff members are rude and ignorant as to the laws and policies that they reference as a means of trying to convince patients to return for unnecessary follow up visits. I saw this doctor once for a referral for a biopsy that my gynecologist said they needed. The only way this doctor allows you to have test results is by coming back in for a follow up. All other doctors I have been to give you results via phone, which they said violates HIPPA. That is factually u true. After accepting that policy, as they have the right to make whatever policies they choose, I opted not to do a follow up because I already knew the results due to an event that occurred during the biopsy. However, his office kept calling and requesting that I come for a follow up. I explained to them twice what happened and how I knew the results. Four months later, they sent a letter indicating that it was imperative that I return for a… follow up. I called again, discussed the issue with Kristy, who stated that the doctor wants to see me again to tell me what schedule he wants to set up for more "follow up" visits after that (she said 6 months, 1 year, etc.). I told her I saw him once and after continued calls and the letter that I would not return to him anyways. Had they stopped calling after the first call, I would have because the doctor is actually very nice and informative. Kristy agreed to mail a Release of Information to me so that I could request the biopsy results (she said that it was a 2 page document). I called her a few days later (Friday),as I didn't receive it, and she said it was going in the mail that day. I called the following Wednesday, spoke to a rude female who was very ignorant to the HIPPA law, and told her that I still hadn't received the release. She proceeded to tell me that it is against HIPPA regulations to mail a release because she said they wouldn't know for sure who signed it and that releases of information can only be signed in person. I then told her she needed education on HIPPA, she was very rude and said she didn't. I asked to speak with the doctor and she said that I can speak to the officer manager, put me on hold and after several minutes, still no answer. Basically, I called their bluff, as the biopsy results are negative, just as I already knew 4 months ago. The office staff was desperate to convince me to come for an unnecessary follow up visit and then started playing games when I simply requested a release of information, which was an easy way for me to get the negative biopsy results. In fact, releases of information are designed, as part of HIPPA requirements, to provide a means of releasing health information to the patient or their designee while still protecting the patient's private health information. A patient signs it, returns it to the provider and the records are released. Think about it...a person lives/moved out of state or another doctor requests patient records...the patient doesnt return to that provider to sign it in their presence. I guess they fly from California back to Dr. Hechtman's office so his staff can watch them sign. Get real! They knew they kept bugging a person to come in so they could bill the insurance, a huge reason why insurance rates went so high for so many years, and they encountered a person who actually knows HIPPA. I was a Masters Level social worker for nearly 20 years! I know the law. Sad that the doctor is nice, but has unprofessional and anti-business minded folks in charge of patient contact and business development. He may want to consider educating them on the laws and using proper etiquette when speaking with people. He may also want to teach them basic business principals so that they spend their time on winning, as opposed, to losing future business.

Despite being a difficult patient, Dr Hechtman was patient, caring and truly saved my life. I was diagnosed with 3rd stage aggressive cancer at age 36. Dr Hechtman was refreshingly blunt yet compassionate, his skills as my doctor and surgeon has been life altering! Thank you Dr Hechtman

Very arogant doc with no people skills, spends little time with patient and after surgery gives little or no advice of After surgery. Would not recommend this doc to my worst enemy, he's all about the money, never even called after surgery, want a doc who cares about patient, don't pick this arrogant doc who is all into himself. Stay away.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hechtman for 11 years. He has always been kind and considerate. Having had breast cancer and a bi-lateral mastectomy, he and his staff did everything possible to answer all my questions and take care of all the testing appointments that had to be made to make a terrible situation as pleasant as possible. I have been going for follow-up appointments since my surgery and chemotherapy. Every appointment has been on and in a timely manner. He is a caring doctor and his staff is top notch (both going the extra mile when needed). Thank you for letting me speak of the fine doctor and his staff.
