Dr. Jason Nick Kanos, MD

Dr. Kanos delivered my first daughter in 2014 and my second daughter in 2019. Both times I got great care, and even though we had moved further from the city I still came back to see him for my second pregnancy because I felt so comfortable with him. He can have a dry sense of humor but I appreciate that and find him warm, funny, and extremely caring. He always makes sure you are completely comfortable, is extremely patient with time and questions, never makes you wait long for your appointments, and above all makes sure you and your baby are 100% looked after with the best medical care. Highly recommend him and the hospital he delivers at, St. Luke’s Roosevelt (or now called Mt. Sinai West?).

Well Kanos delivered my daughter last year-she is now 1yr old. I found out through another doctor that Kanos was bad mouthing me via Dr Chat in the hospital system-"I wasted 30 minutes with this patient and got no where". Don't be fooled by the passive aggressive-quiet calm nature man we all think he is. I was fooled and thought all along he was a champion of me being his patient and helping. I found out otherwise. I also ran across another review from a Kathy V. from Yelp. Sad woman and reiterated my suspicion of the type of man he is. He only like models, women/patients who are perfect, plastic surgery types. So guess what? My chart is out, my lawyer is called and he should have been careful about what he wrote in doctor chat.

I will never go back to this doctor again after reading Jillians review on Yelp. I hate this doctor, it is SO clear how there are his favorite patients and he is only nice to who he wants to be nice to and help out. My daughter was born 2 years ago with this doctor and although he was proficient, he didn't care for me like the other women on yelp are talking about. I hate this doctor and will never go back or refer anyone to him.

It seems that Jillian J a principal in Brooklyn has quite a few personal words about this doctor on Yelp with another person named Gina who is hired by Yelp to write up positive reviews. It isn't appropriate for a principal of a school to show how much she loves her gyn. How sad is that?! My experience wasn't that positive. Kanos is cold and not friendly, I have gone to him for 9 years and recently switched out. I couldn't deal with the back and forth of the non consistency of his hot and cold additude. I tried after my daughter was born last year to still put up with it but I couldn't handle it. Between the cold additude and judgemental comments I decided to part ways and go to a new gyn, what a breath of fresh air and my husband and I are both happy I made the switch.

Dr. Kanos is very professional and always takes his time with me to answer my questions and concerns. He delivered my daughter 10 yrs ago and would highly recommend him bc he's great at what he does!

Seems cold and indifferent but over time it just became something a bit annoying. But he is so meticulous and respectful, timely, and overall a great OB. So forgive that he might not spend a lot of time with you. And forgive his Spock-like lack of emotions. He's really a wonderful doctor.

I wanted to believe that he was just cold but a good doc. And since he was highly recommended, I gave him too many chances. But overall, I realize my gut instinct was right. He is too care-free and when it comes to pregnancy, I wouldn't suggest such a lax attitude. No matter if you're young or older, he just doesn't seem like he cares. If you are highly educated, then you can ask him to run tests and he will. But on his own, he won't -- not acceptable. And his staff, particularly medical records dept, cannot seem to get their act together. If you request a blood test result to be faxed to a specialist, either they can't find it or they send the wrong test. Way too many OTHER docs in the city.

Extremely knowledgeable, can come off as rather brusque but ultimately just looking to do a job well and efficiently. Absolutely marvelous in handling my LEEP procedure, before, during, and after the operation--everything done quickly and well. Helpful and understanding when there was a rather scary issue with blood tests right before being in the OR. Completely trustworthy, and absolutely recommend him.

he is a caring and patient doctor. He listens to his patients with patience and with out prejudice which makes it more easier to open up with any issues that you may have. If you come into his office with questions you will get answers. HE is always professional and enjoys his work. I really don't have any complaints about him. appointments are quick to get on the phone. staff are professional as well. he is prompt with answering messages. he delivered my daughter by c section and he was thorough and quick thinking during the whole process. you will not be disappointed

I have been a patient of Dr. Kanos for a few years. During my visits with him he was always professional, caring and friendly. Dr. Kanos takes times to answer questions and his responses are are always clear. I feel very confident after an exam with Dr. Kanos and trust his opinion. I will not hestitate for a minute to refer family and friends to him. Thank you Dr. Kanos!
