Dr. Jason W Kennard, MD

I can’t say enough about this Doctor. He answered all of my questions before i had to ask. He has a great bedside manner and the follow-up was the same. Never rushed and listened to the patient. Excellent Doctor!

I went to Dr. Kennard for a non-healing abcess that might have seemed like a cut-and-dry problem, he was nice and reassured me that it would be a minor surgery with little recovery time. However he didn’t take into account the fact that I am immunosuppressed, and didn’t listen to or didn’t believe me about the variety of other symptoms I told him about. He did a surgery for what he believed to be the problem, without doing any tests or imaging. He sent me home with stitches and ignored my concerns about the surgical dressing (which was supposed to last 2 weeks) falling off immediately. I called his office multiple times to tell him I had symptoms of infection and worsening pain, when he finally agreed to see me for a follow-up. At this point I had already been hospitalized and was awaiting another surgery, and his office called me to cancel the appointment! If I had waited to see him, only to get cancelled on last minute, I could’ve died of septic infection. I had redness spreading… about an inch an hour and no one in his office cared (or they didn’t believe me) I had another surgery, this time the wound was left open. The wound was not healing properly and after 2 more months of extreme pain I had a third surgery on the same area, this time they finally did empirical tests and found the source of the infection to be a fistula. Reading the records from my first surgery I realized that Dr. Kennard never did a biopsy of the original tissue (screening for cancer and other serious problems), and that he wrote in my records that I had no other systemic symptoms although I have many that I explained in detail! These are dangerous oversights for a surgeon, who I entrusted to fix the problem and instead just prolonged my suffering. When I reached out to him asking for a letter to my school explaining why I had to withdraw for the semester, he wrote that I had a minor surgical procedure and that my absence from school was justified on the day of the surgery only. He accounted for no recovery time at all even though the surgical site is in an area that prevents me from sitting down (never mind the fact that I had multiple subsequent hospitalizations and surgeries that prevented me from going to school) Overall, he treated me for a problem he assumed I had without considering my other symptoms or checking for anything else, then his office neglected me and cancelled on me when the problem I had was serious and needed attention. He didn’t do a biopsy that he said he would do and put my health in jeopardy. Then he completely invalidated the 6 months of health problems I have been dealing with, saying I should’ve missed one day of school...

I had a cyst removed back on February 2017. I let them know I did not have insurance. They told me the price to pay with no insurance and gave me the discount for paying same day cash. Six months later I received a bill for $580 dollars after they filed with an insurance company that I was no longer active with. I then called once a month after being told it would be taken care of. Today I end up in collections. Be sure to get robbed by Dr. Kennard and his office staff. I was also misdiagnosed with a tumor vs. a cyst in the original appt which I paid $200 cash to be misdiagnosed. Thumbs way down.

Nice , friendly, confident in what he does. Made my mom feel like he would do all he could to help her.

Best Surgon, I can not imagine doing any surgery with anyone else.

If it was not for Dr Kennard getting me in for surgery when he did I would not be here today. He has saved my life.
