I had Dr. K as my Pdoc for a couple of years. I do not understand the bad reviews. I will say this, how is a Pdoc suppose to know what works for you, UNLESS YOU TELL THEM. I think maybe Dr. K's laid back demeanor isn't for those that want instant relief. Mental health just doesn't work that way, if only.

Dr. K is essentially a man-made disaster for mentally ill patients who have to see him. If you are having symptoms and feeling confused and asking for help from Dr. K, you will receive only minimal help from him. If you can learn to play, "Guess what medication(s) I should be on to feel OK each day," as I recently did, or if you are already quite healthy and just need med maintenance, you might be able to be healthy while seeing Dr. K. Otherwise, you will have an unpleasant experience, as I did for months. It is very difficult for a mentally ill patient with no medical training to figure out which medications would help him or her feel better.

Dr. K cancelled my appointment after waiting over 6 months. He did not open up another appointment slot, but expected me to wait another 5 months. This is not safe for a bipolar patient on medications and between doctors. The office staff was unapologetic and I was nothing but nice. I'm a medical student under a lot of stress and I feel betrayed and left on the street by Dr. K. I'm going to report him to the board because he had me in a holding pattern and should have told me sooner.
