Dr. Jason Scott Loewen, MD

I was seen by Dr Loewen for a red a bulging area over my scar after lumpectomy which turned out to be an infected seroma. He did a very nice job with the incision and drainage in the office. However, no culture of the wound was taken, and he did not irrigate the wound. I woke the next morning with increased pain and swelling around the drain. Copious amounts of thick puss was building up requiring me press on the area to get it to come out around the drain and relieve the pain. Since I live 1.5 hrs away, I sought medical attention with my ARNP who felt I needed further medical attention beyond her expertise. She called Dr. Loewen right away and his response was that everything sounded normal. I ended up in ER where I received needed medical care (wound irrigation and suction and cultures) and the wound improved immensely in the next 4 hrs.
