Dr. Jason Pernell Heavens, MD

Best primary care experience ever! Dr. Heavens is available, took plenty of time with me and was patient with my questions. I’d recommend him to anyone.

I always found Dr. Heavens to be helpful. He chooses the correct tests, listens intently; makes suggestions for plan of care. Quiet mannered. Appears to be thinking intently about what is being said by pt. Staff was friendly all the times l was there. Appointments timely.

Have been waiting for more than 2 months for a referral to be sent to specialist. Have called there more than 4 times. No return calls and no referral has been sent. Had insurance company call them twice to send referral and they told them that they would send it and it is still not sent. Had specialist call them, and still no referral sent. There is no reason for this to be happening and absolutely no concern for my declining health.

This Dr. Needs a whole new staff. My husband has had two appointments and has yet to see anyone. The first time he went to the wrong office so he rescheduled. The second visit he was there right on time. They were very rude and told him he was late and they would not see him even though there were no patient's in the waiting room or parking lot at 2:30. Will not recommend this Dr. facilities to a dog.

Don't ever use Dr. Heavens in Apache Junction or Mesa! They are completely incompetent! They misdiagnosed me in a life threatening situation and I ended up in the hospital for 5 days (costing me 1000's of dollars in deductibles) and today I find out I have waited 3 weeks for a referral they never sent in and lied to me about it when I called twice to see why it was taking so long...I took things into my own hands and called my insurance company to be told they never sent it in because I NEVER NEEDED ONE! This used to be a good doctors office but they have outgrown themselves and are now hiring idiots to manage your healthcare! I would also stay away from their new Urgent Care next to Fry's...I am DONE!

Finally found a Doctor who practices, ethically and responsibley. He took his time and listened. Have been seeing the Doctor for over 1 year, and has helped treat my complex medical issues. I have lived all over the country and this Doctor is exceptional. The staff was courteous.

I had left 3 messages on Hanna's voice mail with not one call back. Had a appointment yesterday and filled out a complaint form. Hanna finally calls me back to the room. She proceeds to get in my face, pointing her finger at me and said "you got me in trouble and I got you on the schedule for Dr Heavens" it all escalated from there. I felt verbally attacked and in shock that she would talk to a patient like she did, she was extremely unprofessional. I work in the medical field and know that is unacceptable behavior for anyone.. anytime!! Love Dr Heavens, he apologized to me but still feel shaken by the incident.

My primary care physician is Dr. Heavens, and have visited him a number of times. Visits were OK, but don't ever try to call them or send them email via the portal as they are very unresponsive. I left multiple calls with his Medical Assistant, about a change with my blood pressure during a fast and a well documented text on their internet site. More than a week later, after my fast had been over for a number of days, I got a call back who said come in. Guess they only make money with visits. Had they answered my concerns correctly and quickly (day or two) with a two minute call, I would be more than happy to continue to use this doctor. That will never happen, as I will not use Dr. Heavens or his staff again.

My first experience was waiting two months to see Dr. Heavens and then going there and I wasn't scheduled with Dr. Heavens! Overall my experience over the last 8 months has been that I was generally thinking that the office staff was lacking but I was happy with the actual medical staff I saw. I NEVER did see Dr. Heavens! My last experience was when they had called me for a well-check. I went in at the time I was told to come, finished my paperwork within ten minutes, waited for a half hour while watching a patient that came in AFTER me go back and be seen by my provider! When I asked about why he was seen first I was told he had an appointment at the SAME TIME as I did. Which, of course, didn't explain why they saw him first let alone why they scheduled two people at the same appointment time. Their office is set up so I could see what was going on back where that patient came out. They spent around five minutes talking and hugging and laughing with the staff back there… including the provider that I was still waiting to see! I left the office, called my insurance and changed providers!

Been going there for over a year with a stomach or intestine problem no results now they think there are other health problems to worry about so we don't think about the problem they don't want to deal with because they would have to send me to a specialist and not get that monthly office call to bill my insurance company for.If it were up to me I would shut down the practice and send people to a real doctor
