He got me in same day. He was very nice and did a great job.

He took care of my husband when he unexpectedly blew a hole in his colon. He had diverticulitis. His case was complicated by a connection between his colon and his bladder called a fistula. Dr. Petrofski took care of my husband like he was his brother. He explained everything in detail, but in words that all of us could understand. He fixed my husband's problem through a 2 1/2 inch incision. He had to give my husband a temporary bag, that he was able to get rid of several months later through a smaller surgery. I am so grateful that we chose Dr. Petrofski. He never forgot what a huge event all of this was to us, even though he does surgery every day. We were all so anxious. He was honest that the surgery was a big one, but somehow very calming to my entire family, including my husband. I can't thank him enough for getting our family back to normal.

My MIL still had an extended abdominal 6 weeks after Dr Petrofski performed surgery to remove a hernia. In the recovery room there was a blot clot blocking the opening of the drain tube and yelled “we have a bleeder in here” to his nurse which was most discomforting to her - horrible bedside manner! Then he had to put in a suture to close the hole and did not use anesthesia, which was very painful! Another Dr confirmed that her distended abdominal 6 weeks later was caused by a hernia that was still there - the size of a grapefruit and required another surgery! We would NEVER recommend this Dr to anyone.

I am alive today because of him. I am 4 years on remission.

Dr. Petrofski performed surgery on me on an examining table in his office without proper anesthetic, post surgery pain management, or counseling on non-surgical options; causing excruciating pain, inability to attend functions, and inability to work. I was allowed to drive myself home minutes after surgery and was forced to pull over in unbearable pain because my local anesthetic wore off almost immediately. I was incapacitated for 3 weeks as a result of this surgery and learned that there are non-surgical options available that have success rates of approx 80%. Dr. Petrofski performed surgery on me without surgical consent and as a first option which contradicts all of the medical literature. It has taken 3 REQUESTS AND 4 MONTHS to obtain my complete set of medical records for this single… visit. One incomplete set was provided with a sworn affidavit falsely certifying it as complete. Dr. Petrofski and his office have acted in a way to prevent and dissuade me from pursuing a claim including ignoring certified letters and withholding records over a 4 month period. He has also instructed his insurance carrier not to review my case so I received a denial letter without any type of investigation. This entire experience has been extremely troubling and I have requested assistance from The Georgia Composite Board. I'm hopeful they can help.

I had an unexpected cancer that required my entire colon and rectum removed. Dr. Petrofski walked me through this terrible diagnosis with patience and kindness. He spent an hour with me and my husband walking through all aspects of pre and post op care. He had me prepared for just about everything. He removed my colon and rectum through a 3 inch bikini line incision. As a mom and wife, this has been an emotional time, but Dr. Petrofski always was empathetic and patient with my worries. I couldn't recommend him higher. I and my family will be forever grateful.

Do NOT use this physician! He performed a full blown hemrroidectomy on me without letting me know how excruciating the pain would be and that I would be out of commission for weeks! ALL MEDICAL LITERATURE STATES CONSERVATIVE MEASURES MUST BE UNDERTAKEN BEFORE SURGERY AND MOST OFTEN WITH FAVORABLE RESULTS! I told the doc I had a very important commitment just days away and he went ahead anyway. No discussion of other options, no discussion of downtime, and the local anesthetic didn't work! I had to pull over on the way home and have someone pick me up because the pain was unbearable. I almost passed out from the pain. To make matters worse, I received a large bill that charged me for a surgical procedure AND an office visit. When I asked the office about the double charge, I was told it was done at their discretion. I have written Dr. Petrofski 2 letters and called his office and they refuse to respond to my concerns or provide any type of explanation. Please Google, treatment… of hemorrhoids, and you will see that this review is supported by the literature. SURGERY IS A LAST OPTION. LESS INVASIVE AND PAINFUL OPTIONS SHOULD BE EXPLORED FIRST. This was my very first doctor's appointment for my hemorrhoid so it's clear and simple. No gray area here. Beware that this physician may put money over patients when it comes to providing treatment. Please do not go through what I went through with this doctor and his office.

Recently had a need for a colorectal surgeon that operated at Northside Forsyth Hospital. Dr. Petrofski was highly recommended by two of my other doctors. From scheduling my consult to the date of surgery, everything was done swiftly by his staff. Dr. Petrofski explained everything in detail so I was prepared. Loved his excellent bedside manner and his caring attitude. Do yourself a favor and select Dr. Petrofski if you need an excellent surgeon.

He did my colonoscopy. He was professional. The appointment was on time. He completely explained the procedure. It went unevenfully. Highly recommend.

Helped me when no one else would. I had a big tumor and he saved my life. I am very, very grateful. His is obviously well-trained, but his bedside manner is so amazing. Thank you.
