Dr. Jason A Shatkin, MD

I travel 2 hours to see him and he is the best. He’s a real person and smiles and is just the best lung and sleep specialist there is.

I was coughing for 6 wks. I went to 5 doctors before I saw Dr. Shatkin. He got me in right away, diagnosed me with RSV and gave me the only treatment that helped. He also is treating mine and my husbands sleep disorder. Wonderful office too. Amanda is amazing and so is Susan and Cindy. With the individual attention, same day appointments and warm friendly atmosphere, it is the kind of office that does not exist anymore and we are lucky to have it.

Absolutely wonderful physician and person. His office staff from Cindy to Amanda and beyond (those are the only names I remember) but are all so friendly and nice. Doctor helped me so much with my breathing issues and it’s a pleasure to come to the office in Paramus

Rude, unprofessional, and not up to date with current guidelines. He makes inappropriate comments and makes you feel very uncomfortable in the room with him. Steer clear and go to someone else.

We are thankful for the care and attention that Dr Shatkin gave us during a critical procedure. He is caring, knowledgeable and skillful. Highly recommend!

I have been a patient of Dr. Shatkins for about 3 years. He has helped me get control of my severe asthma and live a life I wasn't sure I could get back. I see him biweekly for medication and monitoring and he is always thorough and attentive. Through 2 hospitalizations, he has been at my bedside daily, including meeting me in the ER on a Saturday night once, to make sure I got the urgent care I needed. I highly recommend Dr. Shatkin.

The office, met by his staff of many years treats me like a family member coming back for a reunion than a patient. That I’m there 4 times a year makes it that much more special. When Dr Shatkin comes into the room his warmth exudes into the conversation and I’m generally overcome with warmth and love for this man, whom I place my greatest asset in. My health and soul.

Dr. Shatkin visited my father in the hospital and was very unprofessional. He stopped in for a moment and was unprofessional the way he spoke. When my dad was in recovery, he came in and told him the only reason he is in to visit is because he coded after surgery when my father did not code. Nurse was even upset and explained that he did not code his heart rate dropped. Would not recommend him at all. Poor bedside manner.

Great pulmonologist and is my sleep doctor. I went in feeling lousy and he told me I had communicable pneumonia and put me on antibiotics and I was fine in a week. Too bad I didn't go in right away. I suffered for a few weeks because I didn't know I had pneumonia. I thought I just had a cold. Really nice guy too. Nice staff.

When I was critically ill in the hospital.... scared alone in the ER he was there!!! That I recovered quickly thanks to his expertise pales in comparison to how much I will always love him for being there for me when I was scared and alone.
