Dr. Jason Sneed, DO

Dr. Sneed and Staff are kind, concerned, and caring. Great Dr. and not just because he took care of my problem but took the time to explain and answer all questions. No rush in and out and gave u all the time you needed to feel comfortable and address all concerns. I will and have recommended him to family and friends.

Dr. Sneed is a great doctor; However, his billing process financially hurt 3 of my other doctors and almost cost me, his patient, over $2000, and he made 5x more. If you see him, do doublecheck the billing and insurance practices as it's unusual. Summary: I was seeing Dr Sneed, and knew he was billing as an MD. Did not know he was also billing twice - also under Physical Therapy. [The other 3 doctors I was seeing also didn't know this]. His billing process maxed out my PT sessions unknowingly, had my last two visits to him partially unpaid by my insurance, plus caused my 3 other doctors to also have multiple unpaid sessions. This left me extremely stressed as I now had bills for 4 doctors for over $2000. The other three doctors immediately tried to help me. Two doctors with 3 sessions removed the charges so they only received the co-pays. The third doctor asked me to simply pay the amount the insurance would have paid as it was 5-6 sessions. None of them blamed me for this… situation. In contast, Dr Sneed's office handled things differently for its two sessions. His billing POC fully blamed me, the patient: I *should* have known that he was billing as both an MD and a Physical Therapist (PT); I *shouldn't* expect his office staff to know how they're billing my insurance, and I *should* have checked my insurance records on a regular basis. Only the last is true, but why would I as a patient know that Dr Sneed was billing both as a MD and a PT but his own staff and 3 other doctors' practices didn't? Additionally, Dr Sneed's office received 70% of the payment from the insurance firm plus my co-pays (unlike the 3 other doctors who received 0%). The insurance firm refused to pay him a total of $67. I asked the insurance firm to reconsider, and it refused. I then went back to his office to offer and pay the insurance's portion. I was told no, because that's not how his office works. His office said that they require the full amount that they bill the insurance, which is $330, which is 5x the amount that my insurance would pay him. And if I don't pay $330, they'll send my bill to collections, so I have no choice. In conclusion, Dr Sneed's billing practice hurt 3 other doctors and his patient, but he made 5x more. If you can doublecheck and track the billing and insurance procedures, then I recommend his practice - he's a great doctor.
