Dr. Jason Kenneth Spaulding, MD

I was admitted to the hospital after passing blood in my stool for quite some time. They thought it was a bacterial infection do put me on antibiotics and sent me home. Several days passed and I continued getting worse. They readmitted me to IMC where I had the unfortunate luck of being put in Dr Jason Spaulding's care. After being there overnight and my health continuing to decline, getting weaker and weaker, Dr Spaulding came into my room to discharge me. I argued at lengths with him explaining there was something seriously wrong. In his arrogant manner he explained how sure he was that I was fine and he was so sure he'd send his own brother home and if I were him he'd send himself home. He would not listen to the pleadings of my wife or myself that something was severely wrong, continuing to tell me it was just anxiety. Finally in a last attempt to get me to leave he had the on call Gi come up to talk to me. The Gi dr actually listened, something Dr Spaulding had never done. He… felt very strongly he needed to do a colonoscopy to see what was causing these issues feeling something was just not right. After the colonoscopy was performed the Gi dr informed us of his findings. He said it was the most severe case of active inflammation ulcerative colitis he had ever seen, to the point of being life threatening had it not been caught when it was. They kept me in the hospital for the next week. The head supervisor came in and apologized over and over again for dr spauldings actions. I thanked them but told them I would like an apology fro Dr Spaulding. Over the next week of my hospital stay dr Spaulding never showed his face again. He made an arrogant error that almost cost me my life, yet even after all of it could never come and apologize for his mistake nor acknowledge any wrong doing. People like this should not be allowed to practice medicine.
