I had my tooth knocked out in an accident and was referred to Dr. Stoner for a dental implant. This is a very expensive procedure that I really did not want to pay out of pocket. Although the office knew that my procedure would be covered under my accident insurance, they made me pay upfront for the procedure. During my consultation, I only was seen by his assistive staff. The day of surgery, I was promptly taken back to the procedure area and was greeted by Dr. Stoner explaining the procedure to me. As far as I was concerned, the procedure went well but I wouldn't know because Dr. Stoner did not see me or my mother after the procedure was over. On my 1st follow up, I again just saw his assistive staff.... and again on my follow up. After all that money was spent, Dr. Stoner only saw me during my procedure. No bedside manner whatsoever. Insurance-wise, the office was terrible. I had to stay on Dr. Stoner's staff to submit the needed documents to get my reimbursement. The staff… would say that they sent in the required documents, but when calling the insurance they would say they received nothing. This happened multiple times. Each time I called Dr. Stoner's they would come up with an excuse of why it wasn't sent in - maternity leave, they lost it, etc. HOW HARD IS IT TO FAX A DOCUMENT?! Long story short, they received their money and they had no concern whether I received my reimbursement or not. I would never return to Dr. Stoner's even if he is the last periodontist left in Columbus. Stay away if you need work done!
