Dr. Jaswinder Singh Samra, MD

I had a procedure done at the Institute of Orthopaedic Surgery for Ulner Neuropathy in my hand and had the unfortunate experience of having this person administer the IV for anesthesia. He was abrupt, rude, and inflicted pain on me. When I made a comment to the nurse of what he did, she defended him and stated that he is a doctor, as if somehow that should excuse his lack of bedside manner with me. I suspect I know what was at the root of his unprofessional behavior, but I won't go into that. What I will say is that I will take every opportunity to share my experience with this guy EVERY CHANCE I GET. I am a consultant and work for software company so I get that working with clients/customers can be challenging, but when you make a choice to be part of the medical profession whose sole role is to take care of those that are infirmed, scared, vulnerable, etc - it is your OBLIGATION to take all of what I listed into consideration. I did not ask for him, and if there is ever… another need for me to undergo anesthesia, I will make sure I get the name of the anesthesiologist so I NEVER have to have my insurance company PAY him out of my MONTHLY PREMIUM and my personal costshare!!!!

Called me the evening prior to my surgery and answered all of my questionsI was paticularyconcerned about being nauseated ands he explained how he would change the anesthesia formula to try to help limit any nauseaI woke up painfree euphoric and nausea freeall the nurses spoke highly of him
