Dr. Hekmat did a surgery on me in 1988. I had a great outcome and am still going strong. Petulitary tumor removed. Several family and friends have gone to him since.

I've been seeing Dr. Hekman for 50 yrs.

This dr told me the CM I had was not really there. I underwent surgery about a month ago. My flow in my brain was blocked, among me being very crowded. This Dr has no clue. If I could give a - star for diagnosis, I would.

This dr tells me he is a chiari specialist, then dismissed me because I "wasn't herniated enough". Two weeks later sees someone else I know in the same condition as I'm in, mri's look the same and state the same thing. He sends that person for surgery. He was angry I was late that day because of an accident on the road that I had no control of. He doesn't do neurological testing correctly and rushed me thru the appt. I couldn't even get a straight answer out of him. His exact words were"you have a herniation that is small(chiari), you have chiari symptoms that seem severe, but I don't know if the herniation is causing the symptoms. I've had people herniated to here(points at C1 on my mri) and they're barely symptomatic" Quack, quack! Funny. I sent my films to an actual CM specialist who referred me for surgery, which I'll be having in a couple months. Please find a different doctor. The fact that he calls it a chiari deformity and not a chiari malformation should have been my first… clue.
