Don't say I never told you so... Being new to the area I needed a new primary care Dr. I finally have to find a new one. good luck getting any one to answer the phone or return a call. The patient portal is no better. I asked for the office manager and was hung up on. I called back and after 40 minutes on hold I had to hang up.

my mother was a patient of dr prettelt for many many years. she loved and had total trust in him. he diagnosed her with multiple colds,bronchitis and allergies last year.my mother was just getting worse... he kept saying is was allergies. i then, took her to a second opinion with a pulmonologist. it turned out that she has idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and needs a lung transplant. my mother is being denied for lung transplant due to age..she was given 4-6 months of life!!!!! we waisted an entire year with all his misdiagnosis..and to top it off, i asked him for a letter of recommendation for the lung program and he refused!!!! i have nothing positive to say about this so called doctor...

Does not respond in a timely manner to an emergency call to his office; treats one symptom at a time and does not take into consideration the whole picture of a person's health; spends 10 minutes on a visit with the person waiting 2-3 hoursto get into see him

WONDERFUL OFFICE STAFF

On a visit to our local emergency room with my elderly grandmother everyone from the orderly to the nursing staff were caring, professional and quite attentive. However, this poor excuse for a doctor and human being was making his rounds on Fathers Day 2010. After waiting to see someone for 7 hours the very kind nurse very politely approached this doctor in front of me who seemed bothered to be there and spoken to and asked if he was going to see any of the new patients and if he could have a word with me regarding my grandmother. Without lifting his pen from a patient's chart and without making any eye contact he stated in a very rude tone that he was not going to see any patients and that he was not going to speak to me. I was flabbergasted and needless to say in shock. I turned to the nurse and said I was going home to check on my two small children and would be back. I walked away without saying a word to that man because I was going to be the better person and not give him a piece… of my mind. As I entered the elevator the nurse was right behind me apologizing for his behavior. I told her she had nothing to apologize for that monster. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE HEALTH CARE IN THIS COUNTRY!!! RUDE, PRETENTIOUS DOCTORS WHO HAVE NO BEDSIDE MANNER!!! to say the least.

At first I was happy that I could be seen the same day . I arrived at 4.05pm , by 5.00pm I still had not been seen. When I requested my co-pay back, I was told I was next. I was taken into a exam room at 5.10pm, but still at 5.30pm I had not been seen by the doctor, At this point I requested my copay back and left. When I went to the urgent care clinic my blood pressure was at 153 over 108. In my opinion no one should go to a doctor who feels his patients time is not valuable.

DR. PRETTELT IS A WONDERFUL DOCTOR. HE REALLY TOOK THE TIME TO LISEN TO THE PROBLEMS THAT I WAS HAVING UNLIKE ALOT OF DOCTORS. HE WAS THE ONLY DOCTOR WHO DIDNT PUSH ME OUT THE DOOR BECAUSE OF MY AGE. HE RAN ALL THE RIGHT TEST AND FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS. I HAD TO LIVE FOR YEARS WITH ALOT OF PAIN BECAUSE OF THE OTHER DOCTORS LACK OF CARING. THEY MADE ME FEEL CRAZY AND TOLD ME I WAS TO YOUNG TO HAVE THE KIND OF PAIN I WAS HAVING. DR. JAVIER PRETTELT IS THE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER SEEN AND BECAUSE IF HIM I CAN GET THE TREATMENT THAT I NEED AND LIVE A LIFE WITH LESS PAIN. ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
