Dr. Andersen is very intelligent and knowledgeable about cancer. His treatment plan is by the book (or I should say, the 'latest studies'). His staff speak highly of working for him. However, he has a lot on his plate as Medical Director of Compass Oncology and the 10-mile office move, change in phone systems, and software upgrade in 2019 did not make it easy for anyone, including the patients. If you don't require a doctor who shows a lot of empathy, look no further. On the other hand, the lab techs and chemo nurses are very good at helping patients through a trying time. The rest of the staff, especially the schedulers, are awful. My perspective is colored by the time a staff member told me to "wait here" just around the corner from the scheduler and, not knowing I was within earshot, the scheduler starts 'dissing' me until realizing (probably from the look on the other staff's face) that I could hear her talking. Cancer patients are facing a terrible time in their lives, the… staff have got to make an effort day after day to not be snippy or rude to the patients. Please do not work in the medical field if you don't have thick skin and can be understanding to patients who are scared and at times angry about having cancer. Maybe the rating would have gone up a star if I had a nurse navigator who would navigate and not always talk about herself and "when I had cancer." It can be helpful for patients to hear what others went through in the past, but not when it is at the expense of the staff listening to and understanding the needs of the patients in the here and now.
