Dr. Jay P Joseph

Dr. Joseph is very gentle and a very nice person. Doesn't try to pad your bill with un-necessary work

Been going to him for 25 years. He never hurt me and he never suggests extra work that needs to be done. I trust him and his judgment completely.

When I arrived for my first (and only) appointment, they had my ex-husband's file out. After explaining to them that my ex-husband and I are two complete different human beings and they probably shouldn't combine our dental records, they created a new file for me and then left me sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes. Just as the hygienist finally called me in, the receptionist asked me to fill out the paperwork that she could have asked me to fill out at any point during that 45 minute wait. Once the hygienist (who, to be fair, apologized to me for the wait and did a very good job and was very nice) was done she stepped out into the hall and told Dr. Jay that I was annoyed with the long wait. Apparently they think that people can't hear them from 4 feet away. Dr. Jay came in and was very curt and unapologetic, as if my time is so unimportant to them that they can't even be bothered to call and say they're running late. I guess common courtesy is not their thing. And neither is… filing claims. Six months after my appointment, I finally had to pay the entire bill because Dr. Jay's staff was unable to successfully file my claim, despite several reported attempts. I chose a different dentist for my last appointment, which was just over 2 weeks ago. My insurance company paid the claim to the new dentist one week after my appointment, the dentist's office sent the balance bill one week after that, et voila! Everything is done and dusted well within 3 weeks. I realize Dr. Jay's office could have been having a bad day when I went in for my appointment, but that doesn't explain the problems with filing the claim. From my point of view, this is not a well run office.
