Dr. J. Lance Lafleur, MD

Great doctor but only as good as his staff. New staff members every month. Issue is office manager Chrissy. She does not allow you to take any issues up with the doctor. She just dismisses you as a patient if you disagree with her. Very sad someone like that represents such a great doctor. Ruins entire practice. New a constant staff member to follow up with on your case. She blocks all contact with the dr. so it's her way or its the highway just like the staff that don't agree with her. They last about a month then it's a new face again. Spent 10 plus years in medical school to have someone like her represent you as a professional. Very sad! Does he even know how back it is? Just sit in the waiting room and listen to the complaints.

Dr. J. Lafleur is located in Pearland, TX however originally I thought he was an overall caring, empathetic and attentive to patient medical needs, once you finally got to see him! But his entire office staff is incompetent and needs to be replaced with professional office staffers! They are ruining his practice! Sorry this post is long, however I need to be accurate. I live in Alvin, am a 64 yr woman who's been disabled for nearly 20 years. I started seeing Dr. J. LaFleur, beginning 2023, he immediately required me to decrease the amount of pain medication I had already been prescribed for 15 years. My present doc was retiring, so I complied with each request/reduction of my medication without complaint. I suffer w/ Chronic Failed Fusion Syndrome, after three spinal fusions, injections, stimulator trials, and other back/neck surgeries unsuccessful. Over many years and after trying many different procedures and options, it's 20 years later and I still live in constant excruciating… pain every moment of my life, unlessIcantake pain medication. Another Dr. Lafleur review sounded like my experience! I started having trouble getting through to a "real person" on the phone or would leave messages for anyone or "Christie" (who controls insurance issues). My calls were not returned or be contacted at all. Once a year, my insurance required additional info about my diagnosis and medications, but BCBS reported never receiving the completed forms nor phone contact from Christie. I've been taking medication for years every single day, which I've never had a problem with at all and actually helped me lead my life as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Adjunct Instructor at the local college. Dr. Lafleur required me to attend every month appointments with him or the staff, and I did! However, due to his office not being responsible and keeping in contact with my BCBS insurance, ... I was literally left without medication for three to four months. I went into severe withdrawal and was consumed and overwhelmed with unbearable pain. I ended up in the hospital, having taken meds that I located, but was definitely too strong. After a 3 week mental health/behavioral detox program, I attempted to meet with Dr. Lafleur. Bottom line, he absolutely refused to see or talk to me to discuss all problems that happened... as if being his patient for the year meant nothing. I was told, "You're a liability now, and he can not see you at all!" I was still his patient, I wanted to discuss the dilemma of not having medication for nearly 4 months while under his care and despite his office staff couldn't be bothered to "work out the insurance paperwork or call them," so that my prescriptions would have been filled! Personally, I had no problems with the doctor himself, but my husband and I tried discussing this ongoing problem with Lafleur. He did NOTHING! The buck stops with him. It's his clinic. Therefore, it's his responsibility to find WHY this is repeatedly happening and correct the issue! I was sad to see other reviews here with the same problems, creating so much devastation in people's lives that suffer from debilitating pain! NOW, I search, unsuccessfully for pain relief, and I certainly didn't even get to try to discuss these issues with Dr. Lafleur. As a patient, this experience was such a sad disappointment! Actually, I feel despair, disappointment and NO WHERE to get help in the entire practice of Texas Pain Management Physicians!

My name is Pam Mc. and I’ve been having excruciating pain in my back for years. I’ve been to numerous doctors and pain specialist to get help for my back pain. Every doctor told me there was nothing they could do and there was only one way I was going to be able to walk normal and get out of some pain, and that solution was to have surgery. I really didn’t want to have surgery because of my age and the amount of time I would have to take off work, so I decided to go see one more doctor for a final opinion, and that doctor was Dr. Lafleur. I would first like to say that the moment I stepped into his office I was treated with such kindness and care. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. They helped me with everything I needed and answered all of my questions in specific details. There was always a smile on the staffs faces and a friendly greeting every single time I talked to someone. Crystal, the office manager was just wonder. She is a ture blessing and has a sweet heart.… Every time I stepped into the office she helped me tremendously with everything I needed. When you’re sick and not feeling well you want doctors, nurses, and medical staff to actually take the time to get to the root of the problem and not just rush you out of their office because they can’t figure out a tough problem. Crystal was nothing short of that, she always took her time and I could tell she actually cared about me. Dr. Lafleur is by far the best doctor I have ever been to in my entire life. Prior going to him I could barely walk. For years I always had to use a cane because of the amount of pain I was in. I couldn’t even stand up straight. Dr. Lafleur took his time and thoroughly examined me. He told me that I didn’t need surgery and the problem could be reversed with his help. Every single time I saw him and left his office I felt a little better. Over time he was able to help me walk again with out a cane or me hunched over. Dr. Lafleur did not give up on me once, he kept working at the problem until there wasn’t a problem anymore. He truly saved my life and helped me get back out there and enjoy life as well. I am more than grateful for him and his staff. I can’t thank them enough. If you want a doctor and staff that truly cares about you, will make you feel like you are part of their family, and most importantly getting to the root of your problem and fixing that problem with care and tenderness, then I highly recommend you go see Dr. Lafleur. I am overwhelmed with gratitude with all the help I received from Dr. Lafleur and his staff. Thank you Dr. Lafleur, Crystal and the rest of the amazing staff for all that you have done for me.

I think Dr. Lafleur is fantastic and I am very grateful he is my doctor.

I am very satisfied with this doctor. I would follow this doctor anywhere. He has been the best doctor for me.

Dr. Lafleur is a great doctor and I love him. I have never trusted a pain doctor as much as I have trusted him to put a needle in my back. I never trusted anyone else.

Dr. Lafleur has the rare quality of being skilled as well as personable. Glad I was refered to him!

He is amazing and cares!

After seeing around 8-10 neuro/pain mgmt/orthopedic doctors because of chronic pain, I had to quit my job due to disabiling pain and no known diagnosis and no good treatment except for pain pills. On my 1st visit, i was very impressed with Dr. Lafleur's calm and genuine bedside manner. He diagnosed my condition and then did a ultrasound procedure which has me literally feeling my best in years!

He was very kind and receptive and really took the time he needed to understand my pain and provide me with several treatment options. He made feel comfortable, and we decided together on the best plan for me. Now my knees and low back feel much better!
