Dr. Jay Robert Lentzner, MD

This is an Honest Review Update; It has now been more then 2 years since I have seen Dr. Lentzner, Had any Panic Attacks, Anxiety Issues or taken any Medications! It is really nice to be away from all of the above. For many years I have been giving doctor Lentzner praise for the improvement in my mental health, when in fact; I should have been giving that praise to the pharmaceutical companies for the medications. In reality, doctor Lentzner is a highly educated, very compassionate doctor that is making a good living by passing out medications trying to help his patience. Without doctor Lentzner’s knowledge of medications and other doctors, I would probably still be having life altering Panic Attacks and anxiety issues. Thank You Dr. Lentzner for the help you have given me, finding the right medication, then suggesting I see Doctor Matthew Miller. I seen Doctor Miller for 4 months and in that time he helped me to get off the medications and taught me how to deal with anxieties so that… they don’t turn into panic attacks again in the future. I do wish I had started seeing doctor Miller from the beginning but, as in many things in life, this was a learning experience for me. I still do believe that Doctor Lentzner has earned a place in heaven for wanting to help his patience.

He really seems to want to help his patience until his patience really need his help, then everything changes. He had me scrambling, looking for another psychiatrist because he felt he could not help me with the problem I was having.

I have been seeing Dr. Lentzner for 8 years now and I still feel better about things after each of my visits with him. I am now over 1 year Panic Attack Free! Over the years Dr. Lentzner has went out of his way to help me. As a doctor he is extremely educated. As a man he is extremely caring. I am still thankful & fortunate to have him helping me. Thank You for all you have done to help people like me Dr. Lentzner!!!!!

Dr Lentzner has been taking great care of my wife Janis for 2 years now. Going to see Dr Lentzner is like going to see a family member you love. He absolutely had tremendous patient satisfaction and doesn't mind once in a while getting a phone call at night with a question. I highly recommend Dr Lentzner. He saved my wife and that brought me tremendous happiness.

I have been a patient of Dr Lentzner’s for 18 months. In that time he has not only provided me with excellent medical care, he has also been generous with his time and knowledge. Dr. Lentzner is cautious, considerate and conservative when prescribing medication; he is not a doctor that is quick to write a prescription. He is concerned about me as a whole individual and generous with his time in better understanding me. His holistic approach is beneficial and appreciated. I also appreciate his willingness to educate and inform me about my diagnosis and treatment. He is the only doctor I have had that suggests outside reading material ; leaving me wanting to learn more. When I leave Dr. Lentzner’s office I feel inspired, cared for, but most of all heard!! I can not express enough gratitude and admiration for this doctor.

My daughter was hospitalized a year and a half ago for having psychotic episodes. The hospital in Torrance never gave us any information as she was over the age of 18 and we were left in the dark about what was happening in the hospital, what she was taking (medication wise) and what the psychiatrist diagnosed her with. She was released and given an anti psychotic and put into out patient therapy. She continued to take the medication which made her like a zombie and saw the doctor maybe for 10 minutes a month. He never spoke to her about her feelings or concerns. We had to find a new psychiatrist when she was discharged and Dr. Lentzner was highly recommended. I now know why. He spent an hour and a half with us and answered all our questions. He took a detailed history and discussed options for her future medical regimen. As she was functioning relatively normal despite going off her meds, he decided to continue her treatment for depression only. She was fine for a year and… has recently begun to have another episode. we went back to him and were given a very expedited appointment. He listened to her and treated her with respect, despite her paranoia. I like the way he interacts and cares about his patients and really tries to find the best treatment for their individual needs. I have nothing but praise and admiration for him as a doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lentzner and referred my son to him. Dr. Lentzner helps me manage adult ADHD. He listens well, is easy to talk to and asks good questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to people I like.

With the on going help of Dr. Lentzner I am still â??Life Altering Panic Attack Freeâ??. I still have minor anxiety issues that are manageable but I now understand that itâ??s the pressures of these days we live in that are the cause. Dr. Lentzner has walked me out of a very dark time & place in my life; I am thankful & fortunate to have him helping me. Itâ??s a bit strange but after every visit with Dr. Lentzner I feel better about things, I donâ??t know why but I do! If there is a heaven, Dr. Lentzner has earned a place in it! As a doctor he is extremely educated. As a man he is extremely caring. Thank You for all you have done to help people like me Dr. Lentzner!!!!!

I have become kind of cynical about Psychiatrists and Therapists after dealing with them over the last 20 years but I would definitely recommend Dr. Lentzner. Unlike most Psychiatrists who just try to get you out the door with a prescription after 15 minutes, he does therapy as well. He is interested in hearing your whole history and recommends things other than just medication. He is also conservative about distributing medication. He is a great listener and gives good feedback often summarizing back to you what you just said in a concise and practical manner.
