I first saw Dr. Mackman in 1995. I was new to Wisconsin and woke up one morning with my jaw locked shut. It was horrifying! I went to medical college of WI maxillofacial dept. the head of the dept at that time was the worst doc I’ve ever seen in my life. Thankfully I found my way to Dr. Mackman. Within a week of seeing him I was able to open my jaw. TMJ is awful. Finding a competent Dr. To help is rare. This is my opportunity to thank him for helping me. The other doc only offered a $10,000 surgery that my insurance wouldn’t cover. Dr. Mackman, I always tell people you helped me when no one else would..

A money making scam-run

I suffered TMJ problems so badly that after grinding my teeth all night, my jaw would be dislocated. I would have to use my hands to push it from being dislocated every morning. I could barely talk, and my jaw would crack and pop every time I ate. I had no social life, and barely mumbled. In one visit, Dr M determined I had actually grinded away my jaw joint by grinding my teeth and clenching my jaw while sleeping. The staff are kind, they obtained full medical coverage for the splint and physical therapy, rather than relying… on my junk dental plan. For years dentists had charged me over $25000 to rebuild bridges, replace ground teeth with cosmetic procedures... AND NEVER BOTHERED TO TREAT MY SERIOUS MEDICAL TMJ AND HORRIBLE JAW AND TEETH ALIGNMENT. I suffered several dentists fixing the damage as it worsened, ruined the quality of my life and charged thousands to repair the damage, while missing the problem. Out of over 50 Dr and Dentist complaints/consult fails/visits... only Dr Mackman diagnosed and expertly treated and resolved my life-ruining medical and dental disorders. And the staff ensured health insurance coverage pre-approval, so I wasn't bankrupted while they treated me!!!)

I've been coming here for years I had a particular jaw issue and he was able to help me heal it up. Now I'm on long term maintenance with my mouth appliance. Mac for years. Yay.

Waited over an hour to see this Dr. He didn't bother to read records provided by another specialist or look at the CT scan. No plan provided and shoved me off to another dr. Staff totally inadequate. Office is dirty and old.
