Dr. Neilson listened to me and worked with me to improve my health. Most doctors blame everything on weight without running tests. Dr. Neilson ran tests and found out what was really wrong. I trust him.

I like the uncluttered on noisy waiting room the calming atmosphere and his fresh approach to ideas

He does not just do the same all the time. He makes sure. He thinks outside box. He really tries to find the cause so it's gone.

Great doctor with a lot of knowledge and understanding.

Best Dr Toledo area has .. Spends all his time with patient.. Gives patient all copies of their labs, Xrays, etc so you know exactly what is going on. Do not have to wait, when your appt is set for 1pm, you see him at 1pm..You get the time that you pay for.. Wish more Drs worked the way that he does..

I was new to Ohio, and I made an appointment with Dr. Nielsen to follow-up from an injury I had a few years ago. I basically just needed him to check me out and prescribe the anti-depression medicine I have been on for a few years. Instead, he decided I needed to meet with a physical therapist and only gave me a couple months worth of my prescription until I saw the therapist 6 times (which was a friend of his and my insurance would not cover.) He said he would give me more prescriptions once I saw that therapist and came back for a follow-up. The cost of one visit/follow-up (even with my good work insurance??? $182. He seemed to want to spend more time telling about how wonderful he is by doing mission work in Haiti then really wanting to help me as a patient. I told him I knew exactly what I needed, but I gathered he wanted to make as much money off of me that he could - instead of being a trustworthy doctor. I never went to the physical therapist but, instead, found a good… doctor who actually listens. Also, Dr. Nielsen charged me $8 for a response to an email. Yes, $8. That response? "Call my receptionist." If you are in Ohio, I'd shop around for a better doctor than Dr. Jay Nielsen.

Dr. Nielsen is a WONDERFUL Doctor. I had been hurt at work and before I found him my test results were misdiagnosed by other doctors and then I found him. He is such an amazing doctor he will definitely spend all the appointment time going thru everything with you and help you every step of the way. I can't begin to thank him enough for taking me on as a patient I don't know what I would do without him. If you are a person struggling with your doctor and you need an amazing doctor I definitely would recommend him!!

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Nielsen. I had so many symptoms and saw so many other doctors. The others just wanted to throw a different pill at each symptom and get me out of their office. I was told by another doctor that I needed to see a psychiatrist. I went to Dr. Nielsen out of desperation and found out that I have a legitimate medical condition brought on by previous medical treatment. I was not crazy! Dr. Nielsen is not afraid to go outside of the "standard of care" protocol. He is brilliant and really cares!!

He is always on time but gives you all of his attention during your appointment. He is a doctor that truly cares about you as a person and doesn't look at you as just another patient. He even gives you a review of your visit after so that you can look over it later. He also gives you all your test results and goes over them with you while you are there. He is one of the best doctors I have ever seen!
