Dr. Jay Joseph Schantzen, MD

SUrgery wityh Dr Schantzen in 2018. He agreed that I shouldn't have Versed due to adverse family history but was so busy with four patients, four Op rooms and four CRNA's that he "forgot" to "FILE" those notes and they didn't become part of my record. As a result of this total lack of Communication, the CRNA gave me that drug and when I called him on the medication error he verbally abused me to the point of terror so much that I couldn't move! Then he wouldn't get Dr Schantzen and continued the anesthesia. Dr Schantzen pretended that he didn't know until I complained two weeks later but that is a lie, as he added some more notes about having answered all my questions (although he did not!) six minutes after I was out and did file those to cover his tail. Later he denied being responsible and blamed the CRNA. ALso tlod me that since "Nothing bad happened, so we're good" I don't believe he can handle that workload any longer and would strongly advise for your own safety to refuse to… allow him near you....just ask for someone else....the life you save may be your own!
