Dr. Jay Randal Sloop JR., MD

Dr. Sloop is listening to me when I discuss my complicated medical story. We are working together to solve what "ails" me. He is always kind and express his concern. Other doctors seem to have tunnel vision and only get to the place that they have "ruled out" what their specialty is and then they say "see ya later". I feel that Dr Sloop is genuinely working to get to the cause of my problem and we keep discovering lit bits of things to point us in the right direction.

Dr Sloop was recommended to me by a therapist who specializes in the type of rare disease that I have. I'd been told by three other doctors that they were not accepting new patients--sorry. Dr Sloop also has a busy practice, but he did not turn me away. I was very impressed by his thorough initial visit. He took the time needed to discuss my history, a clinical trial in which I had participated, a thorough review of all drugs, both prescribed and OTC, plus my general health following the major fire that had ravaged our area. Since then, his care and counsel have consistently been thoughtful and assuring. I am a most grateful patient.

Dr. Jay Sloop is an amazing doctor. He is kind and listens to you. Very experienced and knowledgeable doctor. He is very thorough and always looks at the whole picture when diagnosing. Best doctor in Chico in my opinion. The staff is friendly and the facility is very clean and welcoming.

He has been a great doctor for both myself as well as my wife until her death from a brain stroke in 2015 as she lay in a hospital bed in our family room in the throws of immanent death he came by our home to visit her on his way to his shifts at the Feather River Hospital but he had to turn her over to the Hospice folks as she was dying!

Dr. R. J. Sloop has been my primary care physician for approx 2 years. I was amazed at the time & care given to me on my first visit. He took the time necessary to review my history, record any present complaints I had, & answer any questions I asked. He was kind & patient with me, & I appreciate that, as my health history is long & complex. In my subsequent follow-up appointments & acute care visits he remained consistent in his kindness, patience, & excellent medical care. In my opinion, he is tenacious & thorough as a diagnostician who is more than capable of arriving at an accurate assessment & treatment plan for the difficult to manage problems associated with caring for a patient with multiple intertwined medical diagnoses. I have seen quite a number of physicians in the last 10 years due to the complex nature of my health care, & Dr. Sloop is definitely one of the best physicians at the top of the list. :)

Pleasant office & staff - Dr. Sloop is very knowledgeable & caring - wouldn't want any other doctor!Highly recommended!
