Dr. Jay Morris Ungar, MD

Was a patient for about 20 years. He was very good but changed over time, became brusque and unfriendly, not as easy-going as he had been. I heard the same from those who had originally recommended him to me. Not sure why he changed but I felt compelled to find another doctor. This was before he moved to Maine.

he was excellent, his pa in mass sucked Benda Brolin was rude yelled at me, called me a liar, which I proved her wrong !!

I have be a patient of Dr. Ungar for 13 years! I have a lot of medical problems and tons of anxiety. Most Doctors are overwhelmed with all my conditions and were not explaining or taking the time to help me... I have never meet a Doctor with such understanding and compassion... Dr. Ungar has the Best Bed Side Manners I have ever seen... One time I got really sick and ended up getting admitted to the hospital and Dr. Ungar came to see me in the hospital. He sat and with me for an hour to help me understand my medical problem and get me better. After I got discharged from the hospital he did follow up for 2 months on me! Dr. Ungar has always taken time to explain all my medical conditions and treat them... He is the funnest Doctor I have ever meet and does the best Magic Tricks!!! I have never had to wait long for lab results or returned phone calls. Some times finding a great Doctor is like finding a needle in a hay stack... That is the reason I have stayed with Dr. Jay… Ungar for 13 years...

He listens, he's patient, has a good sense of humor and explains things thoroughly, Very easy to communicate with. I trust him.

Dr Unger has taken the time to get to know me as a new patient and has helped me stabilize my medical condition and given me growing hope that I can handle my medical condition and stay healthy for years to come.

When my mother had multiple issues going on, I went to an appt. with her. Could not believe his attitude! Had no clue what specialists had sent him, did not follow up on abnormal labs, took entire appt. for mother to "fill him in" then told her that her memory was failing her. Was short, uncaring and unprofessional. Will never let her go back. (from a RN daughter)

This is a new doctor for me and so far he has been wonderful in following up with my care. He has made the necessary arrangements for continuation of my medications and has also suggested some helpful guidelines for me to follow to help with my medical problems.I would recommend this doctor.

Seems to be just a run of the mill General Practice. I do have health issues that I see specialist for, he reads through quickly, regarding internal problems but he seems to not listen effectively or have an opinion either way. He's very nice, but ...

He never seems to have much time to spare, but even worse, he never seems to know or recall any of my health issues (which are serious), does not read the letters that specialists send him, and has no clue what medications I am on, etc. Also, he can be very rude and strikingly unknowledgable about basic health issues.

Excellent attitude and discussions. Never cuts visit short, and spends sufficient time. Admits when he doesn't know and recommends absolutely the best specialistwhen necessary.Does some of the most professional magic tricks; where the shtick is the trick.
