Science always interested medical oncologist Jay Wang, MD, and he describes the developments made in cancer research over the past decade as “amazing.” Immunotherapies and other advancements have made it easier for him to personalize the best possible treatments for his patients. He strives to keep trust and hope alive as he partners with patients on their cancer journey, and he believes that science will continue bringing us closer to a cure.

Board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Wang received his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He completed internship and residency training in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.

Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists in 2013, he provided oncology care to patients in Naples and Winter Haven, FL and also served as Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine VA Medical Center.

I have been with him over 4 yrs, he and his staff helped save my life and made me feel comfortable and confidant through the whole treatment process. I have been cancer free for 4 yrs and they keep tested and up to date on when I need the tests. He and his staff are awesome. I thank God for Dr. Wang and his staff.

I’ve been with Dr Wang now for over a year! I started at a different office with a different dr. Dr Wang is always on time and I appreciate him very much h as my oncologist ! I’ve had chronic lymphatic leukemia since 2013. I moved from NJ and I have high standards for a dr and I’m very happy with Dr Wang!

Dr. Wang is abrupt, rushing and did not give us time to sort out options, nor did he present any. Chemo was the only way to go in his opinion e even though mother was 84. She might have lived longer, been much less sick if we had been presented with any other options - which we were not given.

5 minute appointment, really one foot out the door. Can't slow him down, does not listen.

He was rude, dismissive & talked down to me and seemed like he couldn’t run for the door fast enough. When I asked for clarification on a Few test findings and values, (I wasn’t rude or questioning him in the slightest) he told me “maybe you should have gone to medical school.” No compassion, no trying to ease my mind, just in & out of the appointment in 3 minutes, no discussion on anything, just completely blown off & dismissed. The nurses in the chemo/hydration/infusion center are warm, comforting & personable so the whole practice isn’t a fail. I will be seeking another physician though.

Dt. Wang was thorough, put me art , and put me at ease with my concerns . I have had no problems with the medication he prescribed.
