Dr Jaykumar Thumar, MD

Dr. Thumar is one of the very best doctors I have ever worked with. I feel incredibly lucky to have discovered him when my father was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2018. During our first meeting, he spent well over an hour providing a comprehensive, balanced and clear assessment of the potential risks and benefits of various possible treatments. Discussing these with my dad, we chose to have him participate in a trial study through the Smilow Cancer Hospital at St. Francis where he would receive immunotherapy to treat his cancer. Dr. Thurmar was with us every step of the way, always ready to answer questions and was honest about the risks ahead. His depth and range of knowledge and experience, intelligence, dedication and compassion inspired complete confidence and trust. I have been treated by Dr. Thumar and his staff for almost a year. I cannot say enough in appreciation of Dr. Thumar's care during very difficult and emotional period after diagnosis and during treatment. Dr. Thumar and his staff have been very responsive and extraordinary in coordinating care, addressing our questions and concerns during radiation, chemo and one hospitalization.
