Dr. Jayme Trahan, MD

This doctor and his staff have no compassion for the pain your in. I had an appointment with him yesterday and he saw I was in so much pain. His grin on his face made me realize that he really doesn’t care. His staff are rude except one of the girls. I called right before storm Barry because the pain was so bad I had been nauseous for a week. I didnt get a phone call back. They said they did try to reach out to me. I have the number programmed on my phone they never called. Are left a voicemail. My husband had to bring me to the ER last night. They took me right away and gave me a shot for pain.Found that my blood pressure was elevated and I was dehydrated all due to the pain I had for a week. The doctor in the ER was so compassionate gave me meds that are really helping me. I finally had a good night sleep. So I made a decision I will change Doctors and I will never recommend Trahan to anyone. At 53 I have never been humiliated in my life. Get it together are you will lose out on the… genuine people that really do need help.

I just want to start off by saying that I left his office in severe pain. He did not give me anything for my severe pain just to get me through until I see a doctor for injections.I called since last week and they never called me back. So my body went into distress due to the pain I was having. My husband took me in the hospital last night. My blood pressure was elevated and dehydrated from the pain. The doctor in Er was so compassionate and helped me. Sent me home with pain meds and nausea meds. They gave me a shot of inflammatory. First night in a week I slept. Now I just need my body to rest. I will be going to see another doctor. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone now. All of the staff is just rude and looks like they just don’t care except one nice girl. I done!

Would not recommend this doctor, doesn't know how to communicate with his patients.

One year ago Dr Trahan performed emergency brain surgery on my husband when he suffered an acute subdural hematoma. We were fortunate to have had Dr Trahan on duty at Lafayette General that night.

Dr. Jayme is an amazing doctor. He is patient , very knowledgeable, and awesome bedside manner.

Dr. Trahan performed surgery for 3 herniated discs and sciatica so bad in both hips and legs that I cried just about every day for a year with pain. I was amazed when the hospital nurse walked me down the hallway and I could walk normal again with no pain whatsoever. I was given a prescription for pain medicine and muscle relaxers but I did not need them because I had no pain after surgery. I would recommend Dr. Trahan.

I read your notes of our visit . They seemed to concentrate on smoking rather than my. Condition. You wrote it several times. You also told a complete falsehood when writing I threatened a lawsuit ; I never once mentioned that word . Not once .. Dr. Trahan your notes are disturbing both emotionally and I righteously feel that I have been slandered/ and now it is libelous for you writing that I threatened a lawsuit , in a possible attempt to black ball me to other doctors. I never once intended a lawsuit , I said I’d make a big deal about this which simply meant , I would take a stand and demand fairness from doctor’s and my insurance company and yes say that I after all these years of paying for insurance and living according to the law (smoking is not illegal and is my constitutional right) , that if I agree to surgery knowing full well all the consequences and agreeing to them that I should have that right to do just that. Perhaps you would prefer to take a 50 percent chance… of seeing me in pain and perhaps in a deteriorating condition , than taking a 50 percent chance of actually maybe allowing me to enjoy some of the short life I may have , ( after all I am a smoker , so I suppose you don’t expect me to live long anyway) Dr. You have not walked in my shoes. You do not know me or my life or why I continue to smoke or why smoking cessation at this time would be a detriment to me emotionally and mentally especially when faced with a serious condition . You do not know my history and if you did I would hope that if you have the ability to have compassion, Then you would . In your field you are able to write as you did to me and judgementally and in some way “show me” what you could do . That’s called a bully . In my field I have to take people as they come, smokers, alcoholics, some with condition that are not what you might judge tolerable. I have learned more from them than I did when I earned my two degrees and graduated as Outstanding Graduating Senior in in my Major at UlL. , No I am not a doctor but I am not lacking in intelligence( although I am a smoker) . As I have been in situations to see that their is a portion of Doctors and nurses who smoke . I’ve seen it so many times there is no denial of that fact. I have along with my husband raised a very good son who skipped grades, earned a full academic scholarship to UL ( he chose that over , one million dollars in scholarship offers , the highest ,Teurlings Catholic has ever seen and has yet to be surpassed.)Call the school if you doubt. Upon graduation he immediately got an offer from Penn State Law for a full academic Scholarship and will be graduated in May of , of 2019 My father held a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Loyola when there was a Pharmacy School . He was a veteran of World War 2 and Korea. My mother was a lady and so am I , I was raised to know to be both a debutante and to stand up for myself in a man’s world , I have succeseeded in doing both. However you have in 20 minutes approximately caused me to be anxious and trigger emotions that are not. Good for my overall well-being both mind and body . I also. Have never suckled , or had to from the breast of the governmental services, Medicaid, Disability ( Disability which I could have gotten but did not ) I have run my own business for bordering on 30 years , without one citation and have been told we are one of the best run pharmacies in the supervisory district. Your notes were written in such a way that indeed was a lie about what I said to you and cannot be passed on to other doctors. You wrote about smoking , mostly , that however is fixable , but a lie once said and especially written and spread to other doctors cannot be retrieved and is detrimental to my future healthcare. I regard this as slanderous/ libelous and a threat to my future healthcare if this sent to other possible doctors. If so you have not followed your Hypocratic oath ; you have indeed done harm , if these notes which contain a lie keep me from finding a doctor for my physical AND mental well being. for I never once said the word lawsuit and there were two witnesses. If you inferred that from what I said , your inference was wrong and a retraction should be written. I am a Catholic and I believe very strongly in my faith , so know there is no hidden threat in this letter. What I do hope and pray for is that forgiveness on both sides is achievable. I have never written anything slanderous or in this case it is now libel . I did not threaten to sue you . You inferred incorrectly and if you have a faith and belief in right and wrong as firmly as you judge smoking then I should hope and will be praying for a retraction. Phyliss Boyer Melancon

After 3 visits and spending less than 5 min on each visit, he is such a self centered arrogant individual. Looking elsewhere!!

In this day of modern technology there is absolutely no reason for it to take 2 weeks to get test results from a doctor's office that were ready the day following having the test performed. Office is not run efficiently for this to occur. My appointment was canceled because the doctor was not going to be in the office and then it was another 6 weeks before I could get an appointment that would coincide with my work schedule. A doctor isn't the only one who is busy.

After seeing Dr.Trahan I realy do like him. He took time and explained everything about my upcoming surgery Everyone who works there was very nice and helpful . Thanks
