BUYER BEWARE! First let me say I am not normally one to post reviews. However, with the lack of professionalism from the practice and the poor standard of care from the dentist that my daughter and I experienced I feel it is my duty to warn future patients. With that said let me start by saying something kind. The reception area is nice and it was not difficult to get an appointment. Our story – my daughter was a new patient and her first appointment was for a cleaning, which was very messy and not thorough (water on her face and clothes and took only 30 minutes). We spoke with the dentist regarding a dental plan to replace a current cap and put a veneer on another tooth that had been damaged earlier this year. Not being a dentist and not knowing what to ask, I was depending on the expertise of the provider. The communication coming out of this practice is EXTREMELY POOR. The dentist did not explain the process and or manage expectations well, and only answered questions… in yes and no responses. Looking back, we should have moved on to another practice at that point. It was a costly mistake for such important work. We were told that the work for the actual service - the temporary veneer and cap - would be a 2 hour appointment. The actual time was 5 HOURS! No apology or explanation for the lengthy appointment. The appointment was scary for my daughter and afterwards the veneer kept falling off (literally 8 – 10 times) before we could get back for the permanent. We did go for a second opinion before the permanent veneer was placed and that dentist was concerned that too much enamel was taken off for the veneer to adhere and also advised that the scale of the temporaries were a bit off. But having already paid for the service with Dr. Kalu and utilized the entirety of our dental insurance, we decided to return for the permanent work. When that happened we were ok with the work – not elated but just ready for the process to be complete. In less than a week the permanent veneer came off and my daughter was over 2 hours away at school. I called after office closing time and left an emergency message for the dentist that her work was failing. We were not contacted until the next day – and only by an administrative person – and were told that they do not do emergencies. Again, that had not been communicated and there was NO APOLOGY. We went back to the dentist that gave us a second opinion. He had to replace the veneer with a cap, as the original placed by Dr. Kalu had failed and the bite was wrong. I am now having to pay out of pocket to correct Dr. Kalu mistakes. This has been a VERY expensive lesson and I warn future patients to look elsewhere.
