Dr. Jean Ding, MD

I got left index finger fracture,got urgent referral to Dr Ding's office. The front desk sectary called me two times to remind me to make an appointment to visit. Waiting time is about 20 minutes,not long compare with my other specialist. He is a professional Dr full of experience in the field. The office sectary Jonathan is very nice and helpful,too.

I read so many reviews about this doctor before I had the surgery with him. All of them said the same thing which is basically he was rude and wasn't nice. Yes, he isnt nice. But guess what, he is a really good doctor. I rather have someone be mean and fix me completely, then a nice doctor who just mess me up even more. He is caring (in his own way), and actually does care about his patients. He just doesnt baby us like the other doctors would. The ONLY bad thing about his office is his staff. They messed up with my insurance soooo many times before and after my surgery that I wasted time by going to the wrong doctor or they didnt get authorization correctly so I had to come back! His staff sucks (Especially the chinese guy because he delay my surgery for 3 months because he forgot!!!). The nurse is the only staff I would say who actually does her job correctly

I was referred to Dr. Ding by my primary physician, Dr.S, for a wrist surgery. He complained a lot about how hard he has to work with two offices. He was angry with me for getting a second opinion. but the worst was when I got a kidney stone. 2 days after the surgery. I told him, Dr. Ding, I have a kidney stone. And he said "no way" and left my hospital room. Six hours later I passed a kidney stone which was collected and saved...just as Dr. Ding was offering me an aspirin for my pain. Later he wrote up a report for workman's comp. and accused me of being a drug addict. My primary, Dr. S. confronted him in the hospital, asking him "did you accused one of my patients of being a drug addict". Dr. Ding denied he did any such thing. Dr. S said " you a liar, I saw the report you wrote to workers comp with your signature on it. Dr. Ding is a vindictive sociopath........and if he thinks you have crossed him ..BEWARE

I have been to other specialists in Alhambra and I was disapointed until I finally met Dr Ding couple of weeks ago. I am waiting to do my neck and han ...

This guy is a Joke! How he is still in buisness is a mistery! Workers compensation sent me to him for a medial meniscus tear. He did more damage than good. Had to have a second surgery to repair original injury and the damage he caused. He also missed the fact that my acl was also torn! Stay away from this HACK ......I wish I would have!

He is a horrible Dr.that I ever had..

Dr. Ding is DIRECT & DECISIVE & DEMANDINGYes, his "bedside manner" is not for the hypersensitive or ignorant individual. I researched him after I was referrred to him and before I went for my first appointment. Also, I researched my condition thoroughly, so I was an educated patient. I believe that the patient and doctor are partners in healthcare treatment. If you want to be a passive non-participant in your healthcare, then don't go to Dr. Ding. You will be wasting his time. If you want to educate yourself,go in, avoid all the non-essential crap and get diagnosed and treated,then he might be a good fit for you. I was referred by a doc I respect highly, to Dr. Ding, for evaluation for carpal tunnel release surgery. Yes, he wasn't warm and fuzzy, but I didn't go to him for hugs. He read my "e-chart" in another room, came in & asked me questions. It was obvious that I was a candidate for CTR surgery. He was upfront about "diabetics have a poorer outcome after surgery." Yeah,… OK, I know that being diabetic raises my risks for a lot of things, but, I have the power to keep my blood glucose in the range where it won't significantly srew up the healing and eventual surgical outcome. That said, I asked him to remove a painful ganglion from a finger flexor tendon on my left hand before going ahead with the wrist surgery. He agreed with my logic. If my right hand is going to be out of commission for a prolonged period, I don't want to constsntly be beating up the hard painful ganglion on my left hand. If I had done that, both hands would be useless. I had my surgery on the ganglion cyst. The anesthsiologist gave me the option of napping, compliments of Versed, throughout the entire surgery.I woke up in recovery, got driven home. My only pain med was ibuprofen....& I think I could have gotten away without that! In the week since surgery, my pain level has been 0-1. The 1 happens when the ibuprofen stsrts to wear off.Occassionally, I'll be feeling so good I'll forget and do something I'm not supposed to do, then I'll have a pain spike up to 5 for 1-3 seconds, then I'm fine. I'm even using my hand to type with right now.When it comes to my hand & wrist, I want a doctor who believes himself equal to or superior to most other hand surgeons. I want a doctor who can DELIVER on a promise of successful outcome. I want a doctor who spends his time thinking about the technical & medical aspects of my care. Sure, it would be nice to have every doctor be perfect. Anyways, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Dr. Ding was perfectly polite and nice to me. As soon as I have pain-free function of my left hand, I am going to have him do the CTR (carpal tunnel release) suegery on my right hand..

I got a fractured hand when I went to see him. He barely looked at my hand before saying, "Looks good, see you in 2 weeks!" I was in pain! But he gave no explanation, no caring manners, nada! He made me take an x-ray AGAIN from his office after I showed him the x-ray I took just prior to going to see him. He just wanted the money! What I was disappointed most was that he didn't tell me how to care for my hand or anything, but offered me a cast that I didn't need which I ended up paying over $50 (addition to my insurance). Just overall BAD experience. Very apathetic and uncaring. One thing good about him is that he lets you ask questions (then, he'll answer). So go with a list of questions you have for him or else you won't get anything from him other than "see you in 2 weeks".

Dr. Ding is currently my physician. My interaction has been completely positive. He gives me the information I need to make the decision on the treatment I wish to pursue. He is cautious in prescribing prescriptions for pain medication...I find this to be a huge plus in his favor. Dr. Ding did surgery successfully on my wrists---two seperate operations---and he couldn't have been kinder or more professional. He made sure my wife was kept in the loop and saw her as soon as the surgery was through. All I can say is, I couldn't be any happier with Dr. Ding.His staff is super! They are on top of my case. If I am waiting for a referral, they make sure it is done as fast as possible. They all have a job to do and do it with ease.
