Dr. Jean Hyacinth Simpson-Savary

Dr. Simpson-Savary treated my eldest son and me like absolute dirt at our last appointment. She also got upset when my younger child, a daughter, started crying after receiving a vaccination. She told me she was going to report me to DCFS to "see what was going on." She DID report me to DCFS but her case against me was dismissed. Avoid her at all costs!

A perfect person for this business she is very caring and takes her time to help you.

I have have my children see Dr. Simpson-Savary for over three years now. When I was pregnant wih my second child, I had some ultrasound markers that pointed to the possibility of Trisomy 18. I didn't do the amnio or anything too invasive, so up to the delivery I still didn't know for sure if my child had this disorder or not. Trisomy 18 isn't compatible with life so I was beside myself when she was born. Dr. Simpson-Savary was the attending pediatrician and was so calming to me. She did take her to the NICU for observation because my daughter was breathing fast and she had meconium around her at birth. But I remember her bedside manner being so calm and she gave me frequent updates on how she was doing through the night. I honestly didn't believe she was completely healthy when they let her room in with me later but Dr. Simpson-Savary was very reassuring and I remember being so thankful that this was the doctor helping us at the time. Fast forward to about a year later. I don't know… why but I didn't know the doctors in the hospital were the same ones you could have as your child's pediatrician. So I went to an appointment scheduled with her because my daughter's usual pediatrician was not available. I recognized her immediately and she was so nice and patient with my oldest daughter who was diagnosed with autism. I went home and changed pediatricians and have been happy ever since! She also told me about the option to have my eldest daughter assessed for autism, which no other doctor urged me to do. I had seen several peditricians ul until this point and I just though my eldest daughter was just quirky and a slow talker! I didn't even know getting her assessed at an early age was something you could do. I thought I have to wait until she started school. No other doctor suggested this and I'm so glad I listened to her. She does have autism and we were able to get her into a great program early and who knows what would have happened if we waited. More doctors need to be as thorough and as thoughtful when dealing with our children. She is always patient (I like to ask lots of questions) and takes her time with each of my three children. She even answers questions through email correspondance and is always quick to respond.
