Seeing Dr Cantave was one of the worst decisions of my life. Unfortunately i was a minor at the time i was seeing her and she wouldn’t even hear me out, and would make nasty random snarky comments when i went to see her and i was so quiet bc i was literally sleeping all the time in high school due to the dangerous drug cocktail she had been giving me. Her answer to every problem was “Let’s add this medication and boost your dosage higher”. I tried to take my own life and that was the first time she was unreachable. All the bad reviews are accurate. Telling my story now, and knowing i wasn’t the first patient, and certainly was not the last she has been treating like this for decades. She should not have ANY MEDICAL LICENSE!!!!! Honestly it’s really interesting you couldn’t respond to my own persona review a few months ago. You know i’m a legitimate past patient, and your rating dropped as soon as i left my review. I don’t blame you for removing it! the truth hurts! so everyone.… BEWARE!!!!!!!! Dr Cantave gave me a medication that not only was not effective for my diagnosis, she had a gene test from my past psychiatrist taken a year earlier before i was forced into “Dr Cantave” ‘s medical care; to help “assist with providing me” with my medication. Not only was she extremely insensitive from the start when i was 14, she constantly invalidated any feelings i had, ignored any and every one of my worries, and every single appointment consisted of “Dr Cantave” especially, encouraging a constant higher dosage increase, of course with my mentally ill delusional mother i already dealt with. Now a “Doctor” was gonna contact to tell her how pushing up my dosages WOULD SOLVE EVERYTHING, IGNORING ANY OPINION I HAD, as i was a minor STARTING HIGH SCHOOL! THIS WOMAN RUINED A HUGE PART OF MY ALREADY BARELY THERE “childhood” . She switched me onto a medication that on my gene test had a big warning sign on it; as i was allergic without knowledge. This resulted in DRESS syndrome and a RARE awful delayed allergic reaction with a 10% mortality rate. I was in and out of the ER weeks prior because they couldn’t diagnose what was going on and not getting better. I went to Huntington Hospital 4 prior times until the 5 when i was dragged in because of how bad i was wheezing. Only to find out i was septic upon arrival and upon admission they still had no idea what was happening. Huntington Hospital tried to contact Dr Cantave for 4 days straight and she never contacted back and it took 4 days to find out i had a delayed allergic reaction to the medication SHE provided. and SHE could not even contact the hospital to help them figure out what was wrong with me and/ or diagnosis me. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR, SHE IS A WALKING RED FLAG WHO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER CLIENTS OR HER CLIENTS WELLBEING. SHE TURNS A BLIND EYE. I HAVE BEEN TRAUMATIZED FROM THIS WOMAN!!!! BEWARE!!!!!

Terrible experience. This woman just wants you on pills. There is no reparative work that she will do. Only invalidate your feelings and enable poor behavior and set up appointments to increase dosages. Don’t fall for her fake caring act.

I honestly do not know where I would be right now if not for the incredible caring treatment I received from Dr. Cantave. When I first started to see her, I was an absolute mess - I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning, I was losing weight, I couldn't sleep, couldn't work - you name it and I was suffering from it. Slowly but surely through Dr. Cantave's caring guidance and gentle drug treatment I started to come around and today am a completely different person then when I first started seeing her. I can't begin to describe the difference - for the better - that she has made to my life.

I went to this quack for a temporary problem. She gave me drugs that have destroyed my life. No blood tests, which were a requirement. No warnings about side affects. She overdosed me on a drug that was totally inappropriate for why I went to see her. Maximum dosage and appointments 2 times per year. I now live a life of torment and pain because of the PERMANENT SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS DRUG. I have been to several neurologists who were all shocked by how she overdosed me with an inappropriate drug. Don't be fooled by her seemingly caring manner. She is a dangerous quack who should have her medical license revoked. I sought an attorney to sue her and the drug company. Let me inform you it is very hard to sue a quack. In any case there is no amount of money that could compensate me for the harm she has caused me. I only wish there was some way to relieve me of this agonizing pain and torment by the condition she caused called AKATHASIA. If you go to her you are gambling with you… health.

Went in 45 min wait 5 min talk and she said i had a mental problem because me and my family disagreed on a family business about familys usually leave everything to there kids especially an only child. Since some of need medication from professional doctors she said i was mental for being angry not getting getting a business i was not only promised but one that i would be the only child to take it over

She's been really good to me and she answer to my question where are you slow so I can understand everything was she saying and what she recommend me to do so I'm going to give a five star excellent doctor

I went to the "Big Name" doctors in the city, the "top 50 in the world" type guys and went to some other local places and none of them truly helped me. Dr Cantave, changed my life for the better, thank god I met her because her diagnosis was on point and if I never met her I was either going to be in jail or dead due to my anxiety, depression and anger and my rumination. All in all I have nothing but positive things to say about her. She also guided me towards a great doctor to talk to that has enabled me even more. Definitely give her an oppurtunity to help you change your life for the better. AND in a response: The first lady who gave Dr Cantave a very low review is sooo far off basis, sounds like she hasn't worked anything out and is still a little psychotic if you know what I mean. She gets prescribed medication and throws it out and is worried about side effects that may happen in a control group and the odds are 25 million to one, what a psycho. Disregard her review.
