Dr. Jeanne Tugaoen Zuber, MD

I am 68 years old and have had Dr. Zuber as my primary care physician for over ten years. I am a retired grandmother who lives a rather bland life. I would hope that my doctor would have a basic knowledge of my lifestyle and health risks. At my annual checkup, that I’ve been completing each and every year, I got my regular bloodwork done and since nothing has changed in my life, I was not concerned about anything outside of cholesterol and cancer. Instead, Dr. Zuber called me at 8pm on a weekday to inform me that I had Hepatitis C. 100%, I had it. No ifs ands or buts...I had Hepatitis C and the ONLY way I contracted it was through intravenous drug use and/or unprotected sex. Now, I knew that this was not at all a possibility. Neither of these causes are at all a factor of anyone I associate with, let alone myself. Dr. Zuber stood firm, saying that I had indeed contracted Hepatitis C and only by the drugs or sex, stressing the latter more than the former. She said I had to call the less… than a handful of partners I haven’t had contact with since before I started seeing Dr. Zuber and inform them that I have Hepatitis C and they may have it, as well. The next day I received a letter from the health department who had now registered me as having Hepatitis C. I went the next day for another blood test. I checked my online chart and no results were listed for either blood tests. I continued to check my chart online, and there I finally see that the results are indeed NEGATIVE. Yet no one called me to tell me this. Not Dr. Zuber, not her staff...I discovered these results myself. I called the office to speak with Dr. Zuber, who was not available, so she had a nurse take my call The nurse verified the negative results. I asked how this would be resolved with the health department and she said the lab reported the incorrect results and did not know if they would be correcting the false information. Needless to say, I feel as though I have lost 5 years from my life after worrying, thinking I am crazy, and for the way my doctor spoke to me like I was a common prostitute with zero historical knowledge of my extremely bland lifestyle. I am changing primary care physicians and I still don’t have an answer regarding the health department. I’m quite sure I am still listed as a carrier if this disease.

This woman told members of my family who have a fatal brain disease that they didn’t have it, even though she did not administer ANY blood test. She ruined my family and two people are homeless because if she actually studied the disease she could have given them help sooner. They are in the late stages now and do not make rational decisions on their own. They think nothing is wrong with them because of her irresponsibility.

Dr. Zuber is very thorough and listens thoughtfully to her patients. She excells in treating the whole patient. I have been seeing Dr. Zuber for more than 10 years and I have been very impressed with the scope of her knowledge.
