Dr. Jeff I Monkash, MD

Fantastic intelligent doctor Dr. Monkash is very thorough, His office is very well run. I would recommend him to anybody! I’ve seen him for about six years now

My primary physician referred me to Dr. Monkash when I started experiencing gastrointestinal issues. I saw him three times: for an initial visit, as an outpatient at the hospital for combined Endoscopy and Colonoscopy procedures, and then in his office to discuss the findings from those procedures. He is very knowledgeable, highly experienced, and as he explained upcoming procedures and potential complications he offered (unprompted) his own statistics: how many of each procedure he has done, and how many times he experienced the complications being discussed (a tiny fraction of one percent in one case; never in the other). At one point during the initial examination I felt that he was talking a lot, and he needed to hear more from me about the symptoms I was experiencing. I said so (politely) and he immediately changed course, listening intently, asking follow-up questions, etc. In fact, as the appointment ended, he asked "Do you feel you've been heard today?" He is a sensitive… individual with a somewhat gruff exterior. I have come to like him enormously. At the hospital he was gentle and attentive as I was prepared for anaesthesia. He was clearly in his element, and I felt that I was in very good hands. Once we received the results, he had me into his office within a week, and explained everything thoroughly. He listened to my questions and answered them. Should I need a gastroenterologist in future I will certainly return to Dr. Monkash.

I had a TERRIBLE experience with this doctor. Treated me like I was dumb and not worthy of his time, when I also have a doctoral degree and should not be spoken down to the way this disgrace of a “doctor” does. He should go back to where he came from and learn some respect. For him to talk to me the way he did was utterly disgraceful. Don’t know how he’s still practicing or still has any patients that return to see him since he clearly doesn’t have any PATIENCE. If the NYS board knew what was best they would INVESTIGATE this demeaning POS.

Do NOT waste your time going to see this doctor. He should not be practicing anymore. He is so extremely rude and will treat you like a dumb sac of potatoes. It doesn’t matter how much schooling you have endured or how many degrees you have, this utterly pompous man has no respect for anyone but himself who he holds to the highest throne (for no reason as he is a utterly disgusting man with little common sense or dignity). You are wasting your time and risking your life if you think this joke of a doctor can help you. He should be punished by the medical board for the way he treats people and the gross assumptions he makes but for some reason people still let him practice which is disgusting as well. Do yourself and go see a different doctor who doesn’t scream at you and talk down to you the way this repulsive bonehead does.

DO NOT GO SEE THIS MAN. This doctor is terrible, he has ABSOLUTELY NO BEDSIDE MANNER. I can't believe some medical board still allows him to practice given how careless he is with clearly no regard for his patients. He will talk down to you and EVERYONE around you. He puts himself up on a pedestal where he does NOT belong and should honestly be ashamed of himself for the way he treats everyone around him. If he was a halfway decent human being he would not speak to people with the tone that he does and would not be so hot-headed. This man is a waste of your time. Go to a real professional and skip this rude incompetent doctor who clearly never had any lessons in professionalism.

This doctor is the most miserable excuse for professionalism I have ever encountered. He truly thinks he is the only person in the room that matters and has no business treating other people like crap but that’s exactly what he does. He HAS TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER! Don’t know how patients follow up with him because I certainly won’t be. Not with his pompous and demeaning he acts. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRASHY DOCTOR

Worst experience ever!

He is a terrible, insulting and arrogant man who insulted and belittled my 64 year old mother to tears because she has a very slight accent. He called me while she was in his office yelling at the top of his lungs, "WHY IS YOUR MOTHER EVEN HERE!!" When it was actually a doctor in the hospital he is affiliated with who told her to go see him. When I tried to stop his tirade against my mother he yelled, "DON'T INTERRUPT ME." And when he was done yelling how she was wasting his precious time and I tried to explain why Mother was seeing him, he had the gall to talk over and interrupt me! I would suggest seeing him if you want to be insulted and treated like an animal. Jeff Monkash is a monster who is nasty to even nice old mothers!
