Dr. Jefferson Morton Lyons, MD

I had shortness of breath on exertion. I wanted to clear this with my primary care physician, who referred me to a cardiologist. Upon seeing the cardiologist, I had cardiac catheterization. The result was multiple blocked heart vessels. Right there I was referred to Dr. Jeff Lyons, a cardio thoracic surgeon, who told what he was going to do and did it. Today Is day seventh post surgery. I have been home two days recuperating. I am grateful for the successful outcome.

My son found out at age 40 had heart murmur needed heart surgery and Jefferson Lyons took care of my son. He had many complications happen but Dr Lyons fought the good fight and my son is on way to full recovery.I thank my Lord for Dr Lyons and I thank Dr Lyons for caring for my son.????Maggie Boggs

I was referred to Dr. Lyons by my Doctors at Ohio Health. I am female, and at the time was 67 years old. More than half of my Aorta was an Aneurysm, and I had a leaking Aortic valve. He operated on me for 7&1/2 hours. I was in the hospital 11 days, and it was a hard recovery for me. I had to go to a rehabilitation center for over two months. Three months later her operated again for a descending Aorta. I was in the hospital for 4 days, then sent home to recover with the help of Ohio Health. It is three years later and I am well. I do have another Aneurysm that Dr. Lyons is watching, that I will eventually need surgery for. I have survived what my dear Father didn't in 1979 when he died in surgery with the same problem. I am so grateful that Dr. Lyons is here in Columbus and is such a skilled Surgeon. My family and I have complete faith and trust for him to get it right.

Plain & simple, on Nov.3, 2014 Dr. Lyons saved my life. I had a massive heart attack. My arteries were all 99-100% closed. I needed an emergency balloon pump in my groin during the cath to support the lower half of my body. I was 47 yrs old. If it were not for Dr. Lyons and his incredible skill, I likely would not have survived. I think he worked 30+hours straight including my surgery. He is an incredible surgeon.

What a phenomenally skilled doctor. My brother was life-flighted to Riverside from Mt. Vernon with a ruptured Aorta and was in surgery for 7 or 8 hours!! They initially gave him a 25% chance of surviving and he actually went home 10 days later. Our family is so grateful to Dr. Lyons!

Quite frankly this physician came out of nowhere and has been a blessing ever since. Was admitted through ER to Riverside Hospital, Columbus, OH with back pain and was discharged 16 days later with multiple myeloma. Dr. Lyons reduced fluid in external left lung as well as assisted me in recognition of my unexpected diagnosis. I've yet to have post-op exam, but expect nothing more than the professional bedside manner he used Riverside. Very thorough, matter of fact, reasonable, reassuring.

Riverside Hospital is very fortunate to have Dr. "Hawkeye Pierce" Lyons on their staff. If you must have heart bypass surgery you will not find a better surgeon than Dr. Lyons anywhere in Ohio!!!
