Dr Plicka and Stonehaven Dental need to take some responsibility for their patient Jason Groat. Jason is a friend of mine and unfortunately is also a known pill addict. Last week he saw the doctor for pain with his tooth. Now about one week earlier, Jason had reached out to me at his wit's end because he had become homeless. He needed a place to stay and had nowhere to go. I reached out to a dear friend of mine who I thought could help and arranged for him to stay there while he tried to get back on his feet. Jason has been working as a dishwasher making $12 an hour and just needed some help. Unfortunately for Jason he had a very rough upbringing. His mother committed suicide when he was young and his father died a few years ago of trauma originating from the Vietnam war. Jason was his father's caretaker and would unfortunately siphon pills off of his father so he's been nearly a lifelong addict. After his father passed, he couldn't keep up with the mortgage and his housing situation… became very irregular. Just this week, Jason got kicked out of the home that I arranged because Dr Plicka prescribed him hydrocodone and Jason took far more than he should have. He was feeling so down that he went and bought crystal meth. The friend I arranged for him to stay with has good boundaries and she decided to kick Jason out for bringing illegal drugs into her home. now Jason is a homeless again. Dr Plicka should take some responsibility for his patient and the side effects of the drug he prescribed to Jason. Plicka is directly fueling the opioid epidemic. He was the catalyst in this most recent event of Jason's homelessness and needs to answer to that. Dr Plicka is a drug dealer. For $9.95 Jason was able to use the prescription Plicka gave him to buy 15 hydrocodones that just ruined the trajectory we were trying to put him on.
