I should have written this a year ago when my husband had cancer surgery, but I've been so busy that I had to ask around to rediscover my husband's anesthesiologist. Dr. Beck was superb! Men like Dr. Beck keep our loved ones safe. My husband had a nearly six hour surgery 16 months ago for prostate cancer. The surgery was late at night--into the early hour of the morning due to an emergency back up. I can only imagine how tired the surgery team was, but they were on task and more than incredible! Because of the number of hours it took to complete the surgery, I was concerned there would be complications from having my husband tilted backwards. He could have had a stroke or blood clots; I could have lost him. However, there were no complications, and I can only imagine how hard it was for the doctor to do surgery and for Dr. Beck to monitor and administer the appropriate medicines needed to keep my husband sedated. My husband is here today---a year and a half… later--due to the wonderful surgeon, Dr. Holt--- and Dr. Beck, who was on the surgery team. Thank you Dr. Beck, I will be forever grateful to you and the others who gave me back my husband. Pat Reeder Bristow, VA
