Dr. Jeffery Milton Pender, DO

We loved Dr. Pender. We saw him when we brought our teenage daughter into the ER at St. Joseph's. He saw us almost immediately upon arriving in the room, even before the nurse had seen us. He was very friendly, spoke directly to our daughter, which she appreciated it, and also gave time for my husband and I to add our thoughts. He discussed the problems he was considering, and what tests would be needed to confirm his suspicions. The thing I really appreciated is that he gave us a very realistic timeframe of how long it would take (he said 1.5 hrs and it was almost exactly correct). I hate it when a doctor says "it will be just a few minutes" and then it really takes 2 hours. He checked on my daughter twice during that 1.5 hours to make sure she was doing okay. He updated us as results came in and then discussed all of them clearly at the end. We also appreciated his sense of humor which made us all feel at ease. Going to the ER is a stressful situation for most… people I think, and he made our visit very pleasant. I would highly recommend him to anyone/everyone that has a sick child.

Dr. Pender was very nice and I really enjoyed our experience. Since we were at St Joseph's Emergency Room, you cannot make an appointment, but as soon as we got into a room (which was pretty quick), he was in there to see us in less than 1 minute! My son hadn't even finished changing yet because Dr. Pender was so fast. I really appreciated that because it was late at night and we were hoping not to be there any longer than necessary. Dr. Pender explained the couple of tests that were necessary, and what he was concerned about. He also spoke directly to my 5 year old son and made him feel important. In fact, he spoke so well to him that my son didn't even seem scared to have his IV placed. He also made a few silly jokes so my son felt at ease. This was, by far, the best Emergency Room visit we have ever had and if we have to go back again, I hope we see Dr. Pender!

Dr. Pender was very friendly and really funny too! He made my scared child laugh and put her at ease during the visit. I know that might not sound like a lot, but it really was great. Kids are scared of doctors, and scared of the Emergency Department, so a great bedside manner is very important in my book. I would love to see him again if we have to ever go back.

We brought our teenage daughter to St Joseph's ER , and despite it being a very busy night, Dr Pender saw us almost immediately. He spoke directly to my daughter and let her describe her symptoms. I like that he treated her with respect and let her be involved in her own medical care. He also asked all of us if we had any questions several times to make sure we were comfortable. I really like how thoroughly he explained things. My husband and I are both well educated, but not when it comes to medicine, so we really appreciated his thorough explanations. GREAT experience with Dr. Pender.

Dr Pender was such a nice, caring doctor. My wife and I were very impressed by his bedside manner and the way he explained complex medical things in terms that made sense to both us and our 9 year old daughter. We wish he had a private office!!

We loved Dr. Pender. He was so friendly and explained things really well. My daughter is usually very nervous around doctors, but he made her feel at ease right away by making some cute jokes.

I think he was very rude. He talked over me .I. would. Not like to visit him again.
