Top notch Doctor and staff. Had an extraction done on a tooth that was previously capped, broken and infected. Dr Simmons made a stressful situation painless, quick and in the process eased all my anxiety. His staff is pleasant, professional and friendly. Highly recommend this wonderful Dr.

This man is horrible. He caused irreparable damage to my mouth due to his neglect and unwillingness to listen to me. I ended up have surgery at MUSC and my life has been forever damaged. I filed a complaint with the board (please read his board actions from previous years). He was mean to me, told me to quit crying and grow up when my jaw had been dislocated for a year.

First visit he did not look at my teeth but said he had the x-ray for the referring dentist. He said his assistant would give me a price for the tooth removal. She gave me a written price but said it would be much less after insurance. She call me in 3 days saying with sedation it would be around $300.00 . During the extraction the sedation expired and he almost pulled me out of the chair with extreme pain trying to remove the tooth. After 2 weeks he mailed a bill stating I owe $196.00 in addition to the $370.00 plus $49.00 from insurance. He said if I didn't pay he would turn over to a collection agency. Worst experience I have ever had with a Dentist!

The VA sent me to simmons for a TMJ eval. When I phoned to make the appt, his curt receptionist immediately told me he might not have me as a patient as they were only doing the eval. She then streched the appt out for over amonth which defeats the purpose of community care. He nor his receptionist greeted me when I arrived. Admittedly I was less than 5min late because of hard ongoing rain and they asked me to reschedule. This man never looked at me but spoke to his receptionist as if I weren't there. Micro aggressions and implicit bias are quite real. There was an air of covert racism at play and I had no desire to resudle after traveling over 50 miles to have my painful TMJ looked at. The VA should vet these outsourced drs and remove them if they are unwilling to see clients of all races. I do not want someone in my mouth that is only seeing me as a means to maintain contracts with the VA.

I have had dental PTSD since my very first dental visit back in 1956. We searched for an Oral surgeon who would put me to sleep for the procedure of pulling all of my lower teeth and implanting 4 posts in preparation for dentures. Initially I was asleep but awakened mid-procedure asking in a panic, "I'm not asleep! Why am I not asleep?" over and over again. He tried to get me to be still, telling me he was pulling my teeth. He said he then told me he would finish the procedure in the hospital (which I have no memory of), as if I was in any condition to make that determination. Husband, Mike, was in the waiting area but was not consulted. Dr. (?) Simmons told me Mike could be with me for the following appointment months down the road when he would numb my mouth and open up the 4 implants in preparation for posts. When we arrived he refused to allow Mike access. When I reminded him of his words he decided he didn't want to work on me because I was calling him a liar... ??????? Well?… I have never had a dentist or doctor of any sort who was as immature as this man. PM me on Facebook (Kathy Parks Dolan) if you need more info. Had extensive dental work performed in the last 6 months...extractions and implants...virtually pain free with sedation, with a tylenol afterwards....would very much recommend Dr Simmons

I had a tooth pulled and surgery to close a sinus cavity. Dr Simmons was very concerned about my level of comfort and if I was having pain. It was a positive experience.

This man cannot perform a simple surgery. Do not trust him or anything he says. You will feel comfortable during the consultation and during the actual surgery, he will end up hitting a nerve and causing lasting damage to your teeth. Needs to have his license revoked.

This man doesn't deserve to call himself a doctor. He treated me like s@#$ and told me there was nothing wrong with me which landed me at MUSC getting jaw reconstructions surgery. I now have pain every day of my life. He's an idiot.

I went to get 3 implants and only had 1 incomplete implant. This doctor does not explain to you the procedures about to perform. He is a jerk.
